Good Saturday morning. Visiting at the new rehab this morning. Thankful that settling in went better than expected. It is near a favorite restaurant for takeout. Not too far from home. Not as glitzy as the one before but seems better organized, at least so far. Thank you for praying.
Did anyone see the story about the Costco store imposter pretending to be a food/drink sample lady?
She set up her station and had tequila shots in little ketchup cups alongside appetizers. She was celebrating her own form of Happy Hour. She finally got discovered and arrested. As being led away she asked if anyone wanted a Second Round. Art said she should have said Last Call. I think it happened in FL.
Crazy Saturday! Sis in law and niece aren’t coming until 8 tonight … we thought 8 this morning! And a late night text telling us niece is gluten intolerant…off to Sprouts I went this morning and checking all labels for the lunch I had planned for today and will be tomorrow instead! I’ve been cleaning like a mad woman and will be exhausted by the time they arrive. But… daughter is coming to join us after church with her new puppy Penny…it will be. Good time for all
Janice I pray for better workers at rehab…my sister told me just today she is having difficulty finding a replacement caregiver for Mom. They either don’t show up for the interview or they tell her they will be late even before they start! She says no one wants to work anymore! Lord help us!
I asked about PT and was told they don’t interface with nursing. The I was treated as if I was stupid for not knowing where PT is. I said it was only our 2nd day there. Actually, we’d been there 24 hours with no interaction with PT. It is the weekend so I had no expectation of having that except I’d been told there would be an assessment.
I am sitting outside and some angry fly or bee is buzzing around me. I am not used to this form of attack. If not one thing, another. Be gone with you, already, mini buzzard!
He is doing better, Janice. He seems back to his normal complaints, so to speak.
I am glad your brother has you to look out for him. I could tell you some sad stories of rehab/assisted living places. Thank God for the workers who care and do work.
My brother saw a sign posted that family is responsible for laundry.
As son was leaving brother’s room, Bro asked son to gather the pile of bed linens and dirty blanket the CNA had pulled off the bed much earlier in the day and launder them. Son brought them home and they are in the washer now. I explained to son that it is only Bro’s clothes we need to launder.
Sheesh every rehab I have had a friend or family in was definitely in team mode with the nursing station. They kept a schedule to know where the patient was so that visitors could either go to the room or visit at the rehab gym…seems someone doesn’t’ want to bother with doing their job Janice! A head nurse at one rehab where my neighbor was acted as though I was a pox on her life…she wouldn’t answer a question as to where my neighbor’s room was and stood there with her hands on her hips with a death stare towards me!The sweet CNA lugging a mattress down the hallway overhead my question and lead me directly to my neighbor’s room. I then heard of the horrid treatment my neighbor has been receiving and notified her husband post haste! My sweet neighbor was moved to another wing quickly and her husband lodged a complaint…he had receipts too!
Thankful your husband is feeling better Kathaleena! So thankful we have our Creator to lean on during these times…and all the time!!

A second view and it was not a very good situation with a nurse who disappeared without giving needed meds. We had to round up someone else to help.

We raised a k8nd son. Now the facility may think he stole their linens. We will carry them back tomorrow for them to rewash.
