I will spend my day reading and scoring more scholarship applications most are excellent. One felt like he was just playing a game and had no recommendations most are a privilege to read It is getting harder to read on the computer
some of the recommendations are so good that I give extra points
that and walking will be my day. Going to daughters tomorrow
I saw on Facebook that a granddaughter is in a ballet performance next weekend. But without an invitation I’m not going to fly or drive 12 hours
Morning! Headed to the backroads this morning. Anyone else have a favorite way to escape for reflection? Getting in the car and driving the dirt roads is my favorite alone time.
We will attend church tomorrow then I shall bake a ham with all the fixin’s….no get togethers for us…
We are so blessed and I pray we find beauty in every moment❣️
Jo, they may have assumed wrongly you would not want to make the effort to travel that distance. I wonder if there could be way for you to diplomatically hint that you might enjoy a trip out that way and leave it open for an invite?
I have been involved in a lot of hospital drama lately. We were up at 4 a.m. going to move a car from a hospital lot before Art had to go the opposite direction for a full day of tax work. Never a dull moment lately.
You know, Jo, I would feel extremely awkward if someone did invite me to an event 12 hours away (other than a wedding or possibly a graduation); short of a wedding, I’m not going to attend, but receiving an invitation would tell me that I’m expected to go, or at least that those inviting me think there’s a good possibility I will go (or send a gift). However, if I were to hear about it and know that there’s a way I could make it, I would contact them and ask if it’s possible to get a ticket (or whatever wording would show that I’m interested in coming). If I’m in the same town and they don’t invite me, I think it means they don’t want me; but if I’m several hours away, the most I’ll expect is to get photos afterward.
Yes, that can be a dicey situation for both parties. Sometimes we get invites, but more often these days they are fewer. Sometimes we hear and then are told, “We sure don’t expect you to come all this way for…”
morning all. Everyone must be traveling
