56 degrees headed to low 60’s. Someone was walking on their property yesterday and had a hummingbird bump into their head! Must be Spring😢 all of nature is confused!!!
I agree! Spring is here. We had rain off and on yesterday and all through the night. In Buckhead, an uptown area, roads were flooded. A long-term resident (40 years) said he’d never seen the streets flooded like that.
I keep spending a lot of time on the phone with my brother trying to keep him company for his long stay at Hotel Hospital. I am glad I am able to do it.
I have, as of today, finished reading the book of Mark. The two endings of the book for the last chapter are both shown in the NLT. The more recent ending includes a statement by Jesus that one must believe and be baptized to be saved. It was good timing to run into that verse today. I had only yesterday told my brother that my current pastor rejects Max Lucado for his saying that both belief and baptism are necessary for salvation. Now at least I know where that is found in scripture. But I believe other parts of the Bible say only faith and belief are required for salvation.
Janice – Your comment about Mark 16:16 (“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned”) spurred me to look into it a bit before commenting.
My first thought was of the thief on the cross, who did not have the opportunity to be baptized, but Jesus assured him that he would be in Paradise with Him. There have been many throughout the ages who have turned to Jesus in faith without having the opportunity to be baptized.
kare, your mention of drifts reminds me of the young mother who recently told me her little boy started crying when he saw parts of the driveway with drifts and some areas with no snow. He was afraid the snow was all melting. His mother would have been happy with that, but he had a whole different perspective.
We have high winds and the yard is littered with branches and tufts of needles again. There are some electrical outages. It is a big area for the electric company.
Kathaleena – In our last snowstorm, we also had crazy winds. When I went out to shovel my front porch afterwards, I was amazed to see that although the storm dumped something like a foot of snow on us, there was one patch, about a foot and a half wide towards the end of the porch with no snow at all. That must have been due to the wind whipping around the corner of the house in a certain way. Surprising to see!
Sorry, internet issues.
Theyre supposed to come fix it tomorrow morning.

Janice – I forgot to add that I think we are in agreement on that, aren’t we?

I was wondering why I couldn’t post to the Friday thread this morning. So, a little late, here are the funnies.

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned”
Note: the second part does not mention baptism. And one does not need baptism to be saved, it is a sign of our salvation that we want baptism.
We’ll be there Sunday morning when D3 is baptized! We are so excited to now have all three of our children walking with the Lord!

Peter – That is the main point that the article makes.
