  1. A Facebook friend who, although he strongly dislikes Trump, is fair enough to say that he is not convinced that Trump is racist.

He goes on to say that even so, Trump should take full responsibility for the clip, as it was done in his name. He should also denounce the clip and apologize, even though he was not directly involved.

It is quite unfortunate, to say the least, that before the info in the video above became clear, others in the administration defended it.

(With the long history of black people being compared to and depicted as primates, the fact that white people were in the clip as well does not do much to defend it.)

  2. Yeah, I’m more offended by the faux outrage over it from the same people who cheered and justified Charlie Kirk’s death. Spare me the lectures from the usual suspects.

Here’s a video with the Obamas in it that’s actually offensive.

And isn’t that Whoppi behind her nodding along?

  3. More whataboutism? Wrong is wrong, mistakes are mistakes, bad judgment is bad judgment, etc. even if someone else’s wrong, mistake, or judgment is worse.

Does a kid get a pass for punching another kid because the school bully has punched many more?

Does an employee get a pass for stealing five dollars out of petty cash because another employee stole ten dollars?

We can be more offended by something that is more offensive, but that doesn’t make the lesser situation deserving of a pass.

  4. Re: “the same people who. . .” Earlier today, I was mentioning to a friend that I refrain from saying that kind of thing myself, because I know that it is not always the same people who said one thing who are now saying another, although there may be much overlap.

In this case, neither myself nor the person I mentioned in my earlier post, nor a couple other friends who have mentioned it, cheered or justified Charlie Kirk’s murder.

    “Both sides have problems.

The Left butchers babies, grooms and sexually mutilates the survivors, torches cities, celebrates murderous lawlessness, and taxes families into absolute subjugation

The Right, on the other hand, hires staffers who accidentally post insensitive memes”

  6. The silly thing is that the White House could have looked into it first, and then replied, “Hey, we didn’t even post that. It was some kind of glitch.” Instead, they reflexively defended it.

  7. Could our President have handled it with decorum and cite it was not a kind meme? I believe he should have. He did not create it therefore he has no reason to apologize for its creation nor usage.

Outrage from the left has been over the top as if he created it though. I find this type of theatrics sophomoric at best…every leftist is teetering on the edge just to pick another fight I have never witnessed our President being racist

  8. NJ – I understand your point about Trump not having posted that. But if, for instance, my Facebook page was hacked and the hacker posted something offensive or even potentially offensive, I would post something along the lines of being sorry if anyone was offended or hurt by what the hacker posted. In certain situations, we do apologize for what others have done. (Such as a parent apologizing to a neighbor if their child broke a window or trampled down a garden.)

In this case, it could be an apology for having let the clip slip through, and a promise to be more diligent in the future. President Trump has responsibility for what is posted under his own name.

  9. Kizzie I know the FB friend is conservative and was gracious in his views of our President not being racist. Some of his commenters were not so gracious.
I have liberal and conservative friends who take umbrage at what this post triggered. He could have quashed the outrage but didn’t … he should have but didn’t which is not a good look. Hoping he takes the higher road with humility…

Having said that I recognize the left will never let this go just as they dug their heels in saying he made fun of a special needs child… which he did not…but that’s another story….🫤

  10. My pastor put out a post on Facebook saying that Trump was responsible for what appears on his site which is true, and he said in essence that it was not Presidential behavior to let that happen. I expect he will mention it today for a few moments since we have maybe one third the congregation who are Black.

Maybe they had ‘checks and balances’ to prevent it but perhaps someone who double checked such things was out sick with the flu. Also, many people are not diligent as they should be.

Trump has proved many times that he is not a racist. I saw a post from a black pastor in Detroit who was at his barber shop. He said this is not a deal to his black community because no one there pays any attention to Truth Social. He said that the whole thing has blown up way out of importance to be used by the left for their agenda. His plea was to just leave them out of it, it is not an issue to them.

  11. Hi, I’ve been gone most of January in Europe visiting family and then trying to have a vacation in Portugal (back to back to back tropical storms). While in Portugal, the TV in one of my rooms was subscription based only (no cable or satellite), the only free English channel showed 1-2 minute news clips from around the world, mostly American. Waiting for the rain to clear, I watched various network and local news clips from the US. I haven’t watched TV news in over a decade, preferring to read online papers/journals and whatever my mostly conservative friends send me. I was somewhat shocked at how poor the quality of news was. It wasn’t biased, it was just bad.

In the Pretti shooting, only the local news channel broke down what actually happened — reviewing the different tapes, gun laws, use of force etc; good analysis focusing on facts. The networks just went with Democratic/Republican opinion and moved on. With Greenland only one clip out of the 5 or 6 actually asked a relevant question about how NATO already allowed for more bases. With this type of news sources, it’s no wonder there is a disconnect on how Americans perceive the world vs everyone else.

And it’s not getting better. Larry Ellison of Oracle just took over Tiktok. A day later there were numerous complaints that the algorithm had changed and was more or less banning any content with Epstein or ICE. What made TikTok valuable was its algorithm which seemed to trap viewers to keep watching. Changing the algorithm lowers its value. Interestingly people reported that using a VPN to watch TikTok as shown in Canada or Europe, the old algorithm seemed to be in use. Apparently the techbros are censoring American content.

A even more mundane example. NBC televised the opening ceremonies — when the US entered they were greeted by loud applause but then the stadium camera switched to JD Vance. The applause was changed to boos, whistles, and some applause. If you were watching NBC, only the applause was audible but watch an another country’s network and the mixed reaction is clearly evident. Bizarre, other than Vance’s sensitivity, why bother, it’s really not that important that some booed/whistled at him.

Clearly, the US networks and media companies are manipulating the product.

  12. Speaking of Epstein, it’s clear that the admin would like to move on and not discuss it. In Europe, people are losing their jobs, gov’ts might collapse, inquests/hearings are being convened etc yet in the US both the DOJ and the FBI say there’s no need to investigate further. And the Republican Congress seems content to play political games with the files.

And the DOJ continues to hide names — in several emails addressed to Epstein and commenting on the girls from the night before, the sender is redacted. Why? It’s obviously not one of the girls. In another case, a former prime minister or minister was said to be quite sadistic and the FBI are well aware of who it is yet the name is redacted and no investigation. In social media, the debate is whether it’s a Brit or an Israeli.

At the very least, hearings or an inquest should be held on whether national security was compromised. Epstein had photos and video in every location. Blackmail for one reason or another was probably quite common. The Poles seem to think Epstein helped Russia set up “honeypot” type traps while other Europeans are looking at Israel based on Maxwell’s family connections to the Mossad.

  13. Finally, the video some of you are commenting on. A friend sent the entire video to me, with the exception of the Obama portion, its actually quite amusing in a grade 7 boy kind of humour; nothing wrong with lampooning the political elite. The problem of course while the video uses Lion King characters, there are no apes in the Lion King thus the original makers of the video deliberately use a racist trope to depict the Obamas.

There’s no way this video should have been posted and nor should have it past any procedure set up to screen what staffers put on social media under Trump’s name. In most cases you can tell whether its a Trump post or staff post by its grammar or time of posting. In this case, you can’t. However, if it’s a staffer then what does this say about the admin’s hiring practises or social media procedure. Susan Wiles is far too bright to screw this up — my money is on Trump posting it and now throwing an intern under the bus. He probably thought it was funny and re-posted it. It fits his level of humour and for those in his age group many would not see the racist trope. Honestly this is who is …. an old man with outdated ideas regarding race and what is socially appropriate. In any case, it is of course presidential. You’d think the administration has more important things to do

  14. Janice – It seems to me that the reason it has become a big deal is because the White House defended it. Back at the time of the Watergate scandals, it was often said that the attempted cover-up was the worst part of it. In this case, the defense of the clip is what has drawn and caused all this attention to it.

As I said above, this could all have been avoided and smoothed over if they taken a look, and then informed us that it was a glitch. It was the knee-jerk defense of it that has become the issue.

  15. Yes, Kizzie.

My pastor did not bring it up at all today as I thought he would since he had posted about it. He did speak for part of the time about his recent mission trip to Affrica, a far more serious topic in the grand scheme for him to speak about in church.

    2. The first arrest and public knowledge of his predilection for 15 year old girls was handled during the Bush investigation.

    3. He was only arrested by the Feds during the first Trump administration.

    4. Then the Biden administration did nothing about any of the evidence that was found. Prosecuted no one. Charged no one.

Now that it’s Trump’s second administration and files were released

    (1) most of which are not new evidence and were known to investigators for years

    (2) emails that don’t prove specific crimes in any court of law on the planet

    (3) Epstein is dead so no leverage to coerce any possible co-conspirators

    (4) no new victims came forward

    (5) statute of limitations have lapsed.

No, no one has to be all atwitter about anything if they don’t want to be. But we don’t have to be dismissive when something is bothersome or offensive to others, although not to us personally.

Tim Scott, who is the only black Republican in the Senate, said, ““Praying it was fake because it’s the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House.” Other black people have also expressed displeasure with it.

(Note: Displeasure, disagreement, etc. are not necessarily “outrage.” But labeling expressions or displeasure or whatnot are often dismissively labeled as outrage, particularly when it comes from the opposite political side.)

I cannot fathom standing at that podium knowing the claws are out from the left to attack.
Her predecessor stood there day after day lying and deflecting and there were crickets from the left when outrageous statements were spoken by her .
Levitt could have taken the time to point out that Clip was wrong but she was trying to shut up her attackers … even if she had acknowledged the clip was bad they would have never let it go. They have an agenda to distract from all the chaos created by them and their ilk…
