Nice to hear about the saxophone lessons, NJ. I know quite a few people who have learned to play one instrument or another after they were retired. Some play out in jams and some for assisted living facilities. Music is the last thing to go for older people and is such a blessing.
When my husband’s group performed in an assisted living facility last week, a former acquaintance was there with a brother who had to move there. The acquaintance was asking about playing piano at homes. He said he plays mostly music from before the Korean War. I encouraged him to go for it. The blessing runs both ways.
My grandson who plays saxophone, loves the big band era. I love a variety of music, except for heavy metal type of music.
Morning! Sunny and warmish . We shall enjoy this last day of warmer temps as tomorrow the bottom falls out!
Kathaleena husband and I joked that he should pick up the clarinet again. He played in jr high school and the family still cringes at the remembrance of his practicing!! Torture😂
I called my Mom yesterday to remind her that it would be her and Dad’s 76th anniversary… she was shocked! Even through dementia she was thankful for their life and her three girls. Of the three of us I am the one with an old soul. I remind Mom of sweet days gone by and I make her laugh…
Praying as this storm approaches especially for those living in states so not use to this type of weather! When we lived in Clemson we had a surprise snow/ice storm and the town was paralyzed…staying home and calling it a day can be refreshingly calming!🥶😊
It has snowed quite a few times this winter, though mostly a dusting and we have none on the ground now. A week ago Sunday we awoke to a dusting of snow (I’d been up late enough Saturday night I knew about it, but it came after midnight). There was hardly any snow, but it was slick and not a nice drive to church. Fortunately some of our seniors stayed home.
I’m happy enough to be in the final third of January and headed toward February (a short month with longer days) and then spring!
Tonight is my first time leading a group within the photography club. The person who had been leading the macro group is getting more education and he asked me to take over the group. This is not a Christian club and some of the members are quite “pagan.” I’m not going to be quoting Bible verses in leading the group, but you could pray that I will be a witness in how I conduct myself and my interaction with people in the group and the wider club. (They do all know I’m a Christian.)
One module and the battery are in stock, the other one they tell me is the only one they could find in the US, its in Texas, so I’m paying an extra 50$ extra to ship it overnight before someone else could grab it.
We had to bring a car in and had a solenoid replaced and the springs. Since we have gotten it back it starts strangely (although it will start). Also, the radio buttons are all back to just numbers. Those have had our set stations return after a while, only to be back to factory numbers when the car is started again. I have to check to see how old the battery is. Glad you can get what you needed, AJ.
Hope everyone can stay safe. The pro-life march for life is on tomorrow. It is going to be a very, very cold march!
Praying for protection for all of you in the path of this ice/snow storm. We get the cold but not much of the snow
Praying for the Lord’s blessing on your photography group Cheryl. ;Through the beauty our Lord has created I pray those who know Him not will recognize the awesomeness of the Creator…..

Laughing is so valuable. Though we are going through a season of troubles, I treasure hearing Art laugh

We are at 36° but going into the fifties today. It sounds like we will get slammed with ice over the weekend. Preemptive prayers appreciated.

Sounds like the group will be blessed by an excellent teacher, Cheryl. Prayers for you as you venture into this new role.

We’re supposed to get hammered pretty hard with snow on Sunday. High amounts expected. Kizzie is in the path too I think…
Going grocery shopping tomorrow, then hope to get Cheryl’s car back from the shop.
Turns out we had 2 bad computer modules which continued to draw power even when off. Diagnostics, new battery and modules, looking at 2k.
Not happy, but it’s a 2016 with only 105k, so it’s not like replacing it is really an option yet.
First world problems, I know…
