Kizzie, I am glad your daughter has a daycare to accommodate shift work. Those are difficult to find no matter where you live, I think. It is probably one of the reasons that an in-home daycare is sometimes more valuable to some parents. Regulations can make it all much more difficult to keep any kind of daycare going. That is why we had many of those close in MN. That is a whole different conversation.
Kathaleena – I was her daycare. 🙂 Now they don’t need me in that way anymore, but it helped build a good, close relationship with Boy, for which I am ever grateful.
Cheryl — the clip i saw had the guy banging on a window of a closed daycare but then meet someone who told him it would open at 2 pm. From the info attached to the video identified the daycare (I forget which one) and it checked out — it was open from 2 to 10. Apparently 2 of the 7 day cares he visited were closed but they were closed by the state as part of the fraud investigation. In other words, police and the state were doing their job.
The fraud was uncovered in 2018-19, charges laid in 2021 and the white lady in charge of the fraud was convicted in 2025. It’s evident the young man was sent to Minnesota to recycle old news, create new outrage and punish Walz.
Apparently, CNN has been on this story for a while. (A friend who sometimes watches the CNN cable channel mentioned seeing reports on there for a while.)
Something that we need to beware of is the tendency – on both the left and the right (probably because it is a human tendency due to our sin nature) – to assume that the bad acts of a few are indicative of the whole group. We Christians often see that firsthand with some unbelievers who assume that all Christians are hypocrites because of the hypocritical actions of a few.
~ “Somalis and their advocates, however, point out the group convicted of fraud does not reflect the entire community.
“The Somali community in the Twin Cities is overwhelmingly made up of hardworking families, small business owners, healthcare workers, students, and taxpayers who contribute every day to Minnesota’s economy and civic life,” Jaylani Hussein, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relation’s Minnesota chapter, told CNN in an email.
“There’s a few bad apples, you know, that committed crimes and broke the law, ” Kamali Ali, a 39-year-old who came to the US from Somalia as a child, previously told CNN after the ICE operation targeting Somalis was announced. “But at the same time, you can’t do a collective punishment.” ~
“THREAD: CAIR accused of abusing federal funds in report
A few days ago, Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) put out a damning report on Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR); specifically, the California branch. I took the time to independently verify their claims — and can affirm they are quite damning.
CAIR, if you remember, is a Muslim Brotherhood front and was recently declared a terrorist organization by Governor Abbott.”
“NCRI went through the quarterly reports from CAIR in accordance with their grant proposal and found that they helped less than 10% of the proposed pool — only 177 Afghan refugees.
Receiving 15 million taxpayer dollars to represent 1,800 clients is outrageous enough, but 15 million dollars to represent 177 refugees is all that much worse…”
Lauren Boebert after Trump vetoed clean water for her district;
“President Trump decided to veto a completely non-controversial, bipartisan bill that passed both the House and Senate unanimously. Why? Because nothing says ‘America First’ like denying clean drinking water to 50,000 people in Southeast Colorado, many of whom enthusiastically voted for him in all three elections.
I must have missed the rally where he stood in Colorado and promised to personally derail critical water infrastructure projects. My bad, I thought the campaign was about lowering costs and cutting red tape.
But hey, if this administration wants to make its legacy blocking projects that deliver water to rural Americans; that’s on them.
I’m going to continue fighting for Colorado and standing up for our rural communities, our farmers, and every family that deserves safe, reliable drinking water without decades more delay.
And I sincerely hope this veto has nothing to do with political retaliation for calling out corruption and demanding accountability. Americans deserve leadership that puts people over politics.”
Now why is Trump so mad at Boebert…….. but sure lets be mad about daycare fraud in 2019.
anyway;
Happy New Year and lets hope there’s less outrage and more care for our fellow humans no matter their origin, colour or ethnicity.
Are you accusing us of racism, hrw? Sure sounds like it to me. I have watched for years now what happens when the charge of racism is wielded like a weapon. Sadly, it hurts those who are supposedly helped by those wielding it.
Oh please…our President isn’t mad at Broebert…he is sick and tired of this stinking blue state shoving communist ideology on us! Remember Jena Griswold telling him to take a walk when he wanted our voting records…when he pardoned Tina Peters (who was actually going to expose the illegalities of our votes but was tarred, feathered and thrown in prison for it?!) This state deserves what it gets!
The Biden Immigration Scandal continues to cost this country. As more and more fraud and criminal acts are being exposed, dems will grow even more desperate. This is what USAID did, and they seek to continue to milk taxpayers.
“Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services brought them in. They get paid thousands of dollars per. They teach them the scams. Republicans are in on the fraud. Tom Emmer himself woke scolded people questioning the replacement migration and systemic fraud.”
“Wall Street Journal and CNN confirm that Trump cut ties with Epstein and blocked him from Mar A Lago all the way back in 2003 over allegations of inappropriate behavior with minors.”
“Might be hard for Zoomers to believe, but my generation was told that all these “refugees” were essential for America and they were doing us a favor by coming here, and that we hated America if we opposed it. Obviously the scam is up. No one even tries that line anymore.”
“ANY state official who chills or threatens to chill a journalist’s 1A rights will have some ‘splainin to do. @CivilRights takes potential violations of 18 USC § 242 seriously!

“These have been the six failed steps taken by Democrats to deflect from the rampant Somali fraud in Minnesota:
Step 1: Deny the fraud exists until it’s too big to hide.
Step 2: Post cat pictures in hopes the issue will go away.
Step 3: Attack the messenger; try to smear Nick Shirley as a racist MAGA conspiracy theorist and inexperienced amateur.
Step 4: Argue that fraud also occurs in red states, and is therefore acceptable.
Step 5: Blame Trump.
Step 6: Stage a fake burglary to garner sympathy from gullible liberal white women.”

Maybe the terror supporting CAIR ought to sit this one out.

HRW,
Trump was right to veto it.
For the rest of you, Trump gives his reasoning for both vetos here.
The water issue is sound reasoning, and good fiscal policy, so of course HRW is against it.
Dems once again made promises they never kept, took public money and wasted it. No more.
