BREAKING: 38-year-old Benjamin Michael Campbell has been arrested after allegedly opening fire on a MAGA supporter over a Trump sign in North Carolina, according to The Daily Mail.
Campbell — a local accountant — reportedly slammed on his brakes after spotting 62-year-old Mark Thomas’s Trump sign, got out of his car, and ripped it down in broad daylight.
Thomas told reporters:
“He was driving along, saw the sign, slammed on his brakes… had a political trigger moment, and just had to tear it down.”
When Thomas came outside to confront him, Campbell grabbed a gun and fired five to six rounds as he sped off.
Police caught him shortly after — and now he’s facing up to 17 years in prison on a Class C felony assault charge.
