Thankful for a wonderful trip to Africa–we learned and saw so much.
Thankful for a surprise overnight in Amsterdam–which put us on a direct flight into San Francisco the next morning, rather than two more stops along the way.
Thankful to discover if you’re flying 1/3 of the way around the world, flying in the daytime actually makes assimilation easier.
Ashamed that, unlike Isak Dinesen (from the movie Out of Africa) dreaming of flying over Africa, I spent my 12 hours flying over Africa playing Angry Birds . . .
Thankful for laughter and a rueful sense of humor.

Prayers for all the unsaved around me. They are numerous. Prayers for Christians to keep their focus more clearly on Jesus as distractions and weeds try to grab full attention. I talked with a past friend who seems to be now out of the habit of church attendance. It made me sad to hear that. May God draw her and her family into a church community.
Prayer for Cheryl to receive peace and an excellent path to good continuing visual abilities. Prayer for you, too, AJ. Peace that passes understanding.

My Cheryl will be having surgery on her retina the end of the month. We have to go to Wills Eye in Philadelphia.
She will then need surgery on her cataracts next year.
She’s nervous about it all and how an extended period off of work will play out. Prayers would be most appreciated.
