  1. Good morning. Records were broken for the high temperature of the day here yesterday. We will be almost as warm today. I always find it fun to read the record highs and lows when the weather report comes on. What a span they can be!

My husband’s group performs four times this week. That is too much, but it is balanced out with other weeks of just once. Isn’t that the way of much of life? Feast or famine, rain or drought. One day all will be perfect again. What a promise!

  2. Morning! It is a beautiful day here and one weather forecaster used the word snow in the near future..like this weekend! We shall see!

What a joy your husband and his group..and you…bring to those who cannot get out and about. The hymn sing yesterday at my friend’s facility was lovely but a real person with a guitar would have been so much more engaging. The personal touch should never be underestimated…bless you Kathaleena for answering the call to minister and touch lives

  3. Good afternoon. We had an interesting day at Bible study. The lady who took me gave a testimony of God’s amazing goodness this week. She needed to leave and three volunteers said they’d each give me a ride home. It’s so nice of everyone to be so thoughtful.

Another lady came in with a baby she keeps. The baby cried a bit and granny needed to get something from the car. We ended up singing Jesus Loves Me and He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands as a group to calm the baby. It worked perfectly. It was so sweet.

Art went in at 4 a.m. to finish work for a client he’d see today. Extension time is rough.

  4. Kathaleena – Helping to carry the instruments, as well as just “showing up,” is ministry, too!

Recently, a sweet young woman from my church enthusiastically posted on Facebook about her three little girls (ages 5, 3, and 1), that they were going to be motivated leaders and change the world.

I did not comment this, but privately, my thought was that the world needs followers, too. Not everyone can be a leader or “the main attraction,” so to speak, in a ministry. Leaders and “main attractions” need followers and helpers, and those who do the following and helping “as unto the Lord” are as precious in God’s sight as the leaders and speakers and singers.

  5. I am glad, Kizzie. It makes a difference to not feel like a beggar having to scrounge up a ride.

I have been a giver of rides in the past to maybe four or five different people. One person was new to our nation, from a large foreign city who never had to drive, another could not drive due to health issues, another due to old age, and another due to not quite old enough to have a license. I was glad I could help.

I enjoy the time it allows me to have extra conversation with my friends though it is a short trip from where we live to most anywhere I need to go.

  6. So nice and cool here. What a difference. I had the ac on last week. So much going on here, but I finished my sewing. Making red, white and blue table toppers for the memorial service at the end of the month. My daughter helped me and I got to see the grands as my sewing machine is at her house.

Sad to hear from grandson that they are going to legoland in San Diego during the October school break. Other grandma will be going with them as she always does. Am I invisible???

  7. Family connection hasn’t worked out so well for so many of us Jo. It does sting and I’m so sorry. I do pray the “forgotten” grandparents may one day be embraced as we pray for those grandchildren in secret…He knows….and one day so shall they…
