  1. Happy Labor Day, which means not laboring, I guess. Actually, it is the last hurrah for summer here before most people get out of summer mode and into school mode. As usual the summer flew by like a hamster’s wheel at full bore.

  2. Good afternoon. The days are slipping by. I keep trying to learn new tricks.

I’ve had some space saver bags to use for under bed storage for years but never used them. I finally figured out the simple process but wonder if I have done a bad thing. I put a quilt in one and used the vacuum cleaner to suck out all the air. A lady put the quilt together using old pieces that had been in our family for years (a Lone Star design). It is the old pieces put together on new backing material. Now I am thinking I should not have done that. I think Kathaleena knows about such things so I hope you will see this and tell me if I need to rescue that quilt from the shrink wrap.

My phone changed it to underbelly storage, lol

  3. Friend is coming over to do some laboring here which I appreciate.

Well, I have learned to water my plants. Must have done a good job as I just got my water bill which almost doubled. Of course I also had family over and who knows what the kids were doing outside.

We had a hymn sing in Sunday school yesterday. It was wonderful. Also had a couple of testimonies. One fellow had been singing since he was little and sang some songs that I had never heard of. His dad was a pastor so they moved a lot.

This Sunday was also when they had the full band in both services. It began beautifully, but by the end I was in pain. I have some Bose headphones that I will bring next week for when they get loud. They want both services to be the same, but I think many of us would appreciate it if there were no drums in the second service.

  4. Jo – You may want to check to see if the kids had turned on an outside faucet or hose and then forgot to turn it off. We had that happen with Teen when he was younger, but fortunately, we discovered it the same day.

  5. I hate loud music during a church service. If infants need to have their ears covered and you hand out ear plugs for older adults, it is too loud, IMO. God is not deaf, but a whole lot of attendees may be one day.

Janice, if a quilt is put away for long term storage, it is good to put it in an acid-free container or paper wrap. It is also good to refold every so often. I don’t have any stored away. I have some on a quilt frame made by my dad and painted by my mom. The rest are on beds or draped over furniture. I am a firm believer in using them, although not abusing them.

  6. I now carry ear plugs–I think I bought them for less than $20–they fit just fine in my purse.

I’m an old granny theses days: music too loud and doesn’t praise the Lord enough. 😦
