1. Good morning, Wanderers!

I have never ridden in many fancy old cars. In high school, I had a short-lived boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, nothing serious, but one we called going steady. He had a rebuilt and repainted ’56 Chevy (I think that was the year). It featured gold flake metallic paint and at the time seemed very special. Has anyone else ridden in special or unusuall vehicles?

  2. I usually listen to the radio while driving. I agree with what I’m listening to but realize I don’t need to linger there

I have pandora on my phone and it is set to play hymns so I have been switching over to listen to that. Fills my soul with praise

  3. We always listen to the radio unless we have company in the vehicle with us and wish to converse. We listen to a mixture of bluegrass/country/gospel/contemporary Christian.

Our best friends were gifted an old 50’s convertible and we once road up and down main street during a vintage car event. It was fun. There are so many of those events here. Several assisted living facilities have them during summer picnic events. I have to say, however, that those old vehicles left much to be desired. Our newer ones are much more comfortable.

As far as protesting, it does depend on how you conduct yourselves. Many babies have been saved from physical death and others have been saved from spiritual death.

I just finished reading Patty Wetterling’s book, Dear Jacob . It made me sad to read about a couple of ugly incidents she experienced, one from an apparent pro-life person and one from an apparent Christian. However, the generosity and blessings from the Christians around her were much more. Christians are sinners, too, and at the least do not have the wisdom they need in every situation.

In this household we are the ones messing up technology. Our remote for the television quit working and I have not yet gotten it to work. I used to wonder why it was all so difficult for my mother, but now I understand. That is often true as we age ourselves.

  4. Old cars: my brothers both have and drive TR3’s. Fun cars. One drove the AlCan in his. They also both have Studebaker Avanti’s as my Los Angeles uncle was a promoter of those and gave them each one. I think all are from pre 1963, not sure of the years. Lots of fun.

Radios: we don’t listen in the cars or at home. Husband needs it really loud in the car and I don’t. When he drives alone, he listens. When I drive alone, I don’t. I usually just sing.

Jo, it has been a while since you visited the other side of nowhere. Maybe it is time. The mice are gone for now.

  5. That is something I noticed early on with my dad. He could no longer run the tv. We tried having the tv on since he died but none of us really have much interest so we will get rid of it again.

  6. My friend listens to the radio stations that have some Christian programs, and political type programs from a Christian perspective. It’s all talk, not music for her taste. I have recently gotten her to listen to Audible books as an alternative, especially as she can listen some while working. She loves that.

A long time back I listened to Christian radio, programs, and some music most all the day long. Now I do some podcasts on my phone if I desire to hear news on a specific topic, or preaching by favorite or new pastors. Occasionally I will turn the car radio on and listen to a Christian radio station. Mostly I listen to books on my reader device while I do kitchen chores. This week I pulled out old praise and worship cd’s and I am listening to those in the kitchen.

  7. Thanks, AJ. Any extended family celebration that isn’t a funeral is a good thing these days. I am proud my grandson kept going when the going got tough. He is a wonderful young man.
