Please pray for my grandson, Micah, his daughter and the mom. They had a tree fall on the trailer they rent. It fell on the bedroom and cracked the ceiling where they were sleeping. Thank the Lord all were safe. They are officially homeless. My SIL went and helped them get out what they could, and they were staying with a relative for the rest of the night. This is designer’s son (for those who knew her when she was on here). Pray mostly, too, for salvation and living for the Lord!
Bad storms went through and two of my daughters are without power. It sounds like Designer Girls will be out for two days. No generators.
Brian, the contractor who had been contacted by Steve, the mortgage guy, is scheduled to come over at 1:00 to take a look at what needs to be done. He has done business in the past with Steve’s wife Kathy, the realtor. Hoping that he will agree to take on the job.
I have no idea how this will all work, with the estimates from the previous contractor having been used to set the rehab loan amount. (The closing for that loan should be pretty soon.) The previous contractor, Dave, is an independent contractor, while Brian works for a company. (If he is the one that came up in a Google search, then he is the vice-president of the company.)
Anyway, I am a little nervous about the whole thing. Please pray that I will remember to tell him all of the relevant information and that he will accept the job. (Unless, of course, it is God’s will for someone else.)
Thanks for your prayers yesterday. My leg is hurting anymore, and while I’ll still spend most of the day lying down with heart above head, I’m able to do some things without pain.
Still looks awful, but there you are. The meds are working.
It is well after the time Brian was supposed to be here, so I gave him a call to see what was up. He said that he had come and knocked on the door a few times. Apparently, it was not loudly enough because I did not hear him. He will call me back sometime later to reschedule.
Very disappointed. Not with him, but with the situation. 😦
I so understand, Kizzie. That is frustrating. Was he unable to call you, since you didn’t come to the door? I have been so frustrated with contractors myself.
Thanks for the prayers for my grandson. He did find an apartment to rent from the same landlord. It is more expensive, but also larger and hopefully will work out fine.
It was a large tree, and they were blessed to not have been injured at all.
Kathaleena – I, too, wondered why he didn’t try calling. As I said to a friend, though, I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is very busy.
