Happy, Snappy Independence Day! Snappy is better than Booming for us.
The Peachtree Road race is the big attraction here in Atlanta every 4th. It was covered thoroughly on the morning news. Heat and humidity are down so it was a great day for an early race.
I have not received anything on my Proton e-mail account. It must be sitting in Hotmail which I can’t access. A reminder to change that old address to the new!
Happy 4th! We’ve had two rain storms move through and the air is fresh and cool!
Lovely flowers up there!
I got the SS email…says us old folk might save some money on taxes.😊
I prefer cherry crisp but it must be Montmorency cherries. I do like pie as well.
I know one of the selling points on our house in town was the cherry crisp I made for the kids who purchased the home. Our cherry tree in the front yard produced amazing cherries and the kids and their realtor ate every last bite of the pan of cherry crisp…they signed a contract right then and there! 🍒
We have several Montmorency cherry trees but leave the cherries for the birds. We prefer the morello type dwarf cherry trees right off the deck. They provide an abundance of fruit every year, have beautiful blossoms and are generally trouble free. A bonus we have found with the cats is that we no longer need to fight the birds for the cherries! The birds know the cats can reach them in those trees but not the others. We have about seven or eight different types of cherry trees growing and producing for us, but other than random cherries here and there, we like the deck cherries.
But they belong in a crisp. Daughter has made some rather fine pies though, and we do put them in our yogurt. Cherry cobbler is a close runner up to the crisp. Son has his mind set on a chocolate cherry cake so we will be working on that soon.
My dad is again saying that he is dying. Could well be. No longer eating or drinking or walking. But that could change in a moment as it has before. Praying God’s wisdom on how to help him and that God would break through to give him peace.
I don’t think I’ve had cherry cake, but have no preference on the others. Any of them are good, as long as there are no pits, because biting on a cherry pit is well, the pits.
Any of those cherry desserts would be great. I would go for the pie first, then the crisp and then cobbler. I wouldn’t turn down any of them. How nice to be able to pick those cherries on your own property.
I hope you all had a good Independence Day. We spent ours with a friend. It used to be four of us, but it is just the three of us now. Life goes on, but there is always the missing. The older you get, the more people you are missing! Thank God for the hope of eternal life!
Wishing all a Happy 4th, with deep gratitude for God’s provision and safety and all the many people he used to make it possible.

And your Independence Day! True independence comes when we cast all our dependence on Jesus.

Looking at it, it does seem to be legit, and is not asking for any reply or information.

Probably is as it makes sense but I don’t open much.

Cherry cake! After that would be cherry crisp. The others are good, too!
