  1. Please pray for my niece Kortni’s family. I have had you pray for her throughout the years. She was addicted to drugs on and off through the years. Her siblings adopted three of her children. She had at least one more with her, if not two. She jumped off a bridge and is now dead. She once professed the Lord in one of her better times.

  2. I am so sad to hear this Kathaleena. Trusting our Lord with her very last breath…how awful is the overwhelming struggle with addiction. Praying for the family and her children 💔🙏

  3. I am so sorry to hear of that whole situation, Kathaleena, all the pain through the years, and dashed hopes for recovery. May the family find comfort through the hurt knowing God knew best in allowing her to pass now. I am sure it is always best to think that people are baby Christians when it is unknown as far as status. God knows and saves despite illness that causes people on the surface to appear as unsaved.

Lord, I lift up this grieving family and ask that You would give them peace in knowing You have won the battle that will be fought no more. Please provide exceedingly well for the children who have suffered great loss over the years. Give them newfound hope in Jesus. Keep them on Your good paths and away from repeating generational sins. Please ease the pains of parents who had hopes for their lost sheep child. May they in Your timing find her thriving in heaven in the good life that could not be found in her listless on earth. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  4. I’m on a “words matter” (and can point us more inward for self-reflection) kick lately, I guess because of all the politics and cautions we all need, ideas and reminders that can inform prayers always though. I think this was from Ligonier, not sure though … Speaks also for fears, anxieties and other moods and feelings we are experiencing. Even our new hearts will stray … Reminder to always be mindful.

~ In Matthew 12, Jesus teaches the connection between our words and our hearts. He says that simply trying harder to be good will not work because the root of the problem is within us. He says:

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. (Matt. 12:33-35)

The words we speak show what is in our hearts. If our hearts are evil, then the words we speak and write will be evil too. In James 3:8, God’s Word says: “No human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.”

Trying harder is not sufficient. What we need is a new heart—a heart that can only be given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ. How can we receive a new heart? By confessing our sins to Jesus Christ, including our evil words, and by receiving His grace and forgiveness. If we repent and believe in Jesus Christ, then we can be assured that Almighty God says to us: “I love you with an everlasting love. My Son Jesus Christ has given His life so that you can live.” ~

  5. I am doing very well, original Cheryl. Just deflating from a brief exposure to being in the very Presence of God and find my heart yearning to return…but the things of this world demand attention.

  6. The Real Cheryl is improving.

Happy to be home, but still sounds and feels pretty awful.

She sees her pulmonary specialist tomorrow afternoon.

Gonna be a bit before she’s back to herself.
