  1. For your humor of the day. Yesterday I heard the merry chirping of one of my smoke alarms. It took awhile to find it. Turns out the sound was from the downstairs hallway. It is close to the bedroom door so I went inside the bedroom door and closed it to hear more clearly. Well it was the ceiling in the hallway. I had to get my ladder. This one was attached to wires in the ceiling. I got it loose but couldn’t detach the wires. I called a friend and he came over around 9pm. He got it off and we took out the battery and changed it. It was still chirping. I decided to just leave it outside for the night. Then we heard another chirp. Went back downstairs. Now it was the one in the bedroom. That has to be replaced.

Were they talking to each other so when one quits the other one starts??? Took that one out and deactivated it, something I learned how to do the last time this happened.

My friend was getting ready to leave and we heard another chirp. Went back downstairs. This time it was the carbon monoxide alarm. It came off the wall easily!!! Yeah! I had one more battery so changed that out and put it back on the wall. Peace!

But how could three go out in one day. Was it a conspiracy??? Has this happened to any of you?

I am off to the hardware store to buy more smoke alarms and batteries.

  2. Hectic day…ready for Tuesday already…

    Praying evermore for Cheryl…❣️🙏

Such an adventure you had Jo!! Those things typically go off at our house around 2am…it is maddening.

I once had the well pump go out and the smoke alarm went off at the same time. I couldn’t get the battery out of the smoke alarm so I ripped it out of the ceiling. Of course this all happened while husband was out of town😊and it was on my birthday….

  3. Smoke detectors. They have a built in system to run out of battery at any inconvenient time. Of course we all test them every month as we are told.

  4. I have horrible luck with smoke alarms.

They need to make better ones that don’t go off (falsely) in the middle of the night.

  5. I have never had one go off falsely in the middle of the night or any other time, unless I severely burnt something. We usually change batteries in the fall as suggested by the fire department.

Carbon Monoxide detectors have a shelf life and need to be replaced every so many years. We found this out with help from our daughter. We had no idea.

So many little things to keep up with and/or make things difficult!

    Nevertheless, good morning to all!
