  1. Quote from No Kings rally in Atlanta, ” No kings in Atlanta except Martin Luther King.” I can agree with that! We never have had a king in our nation except for a visitor from another nation.

    Some are misunderstanding exactly what a king is.

  2. ~ Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled, Blessed are all who take refuge in him. ~ Ps. 2: 10-12

    Prayers for our nation and its leaders today (and always), that they be reminded to lead with humility before Him.

  3. Walz is culpable… and those who shout he is not would be the first to say it was Trumps fault!

    A former appointee of Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is being sought in connection with the assassination of a state lawmaker and the shooting of another, police sources said.

    Vance Luther Boelter allegedly posed as a police officer when he shot Sen. John Hoffman and his wife in their Champlin home early Saturday, leaving them seriously injured before moving on to former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman’s house, where he is believed to have slaughtered her and her husband, sources told The Post.

    The killer is still on the loose despite exchanging gunfire with officers who responded to Hortman’s home and briefly cornered him inside, though he left behind a “manifesto” listing the names of other politicians and a stack of papers stating “No Kings” in reference to the nationwide anti-Trump protests.

  4. Babylon Bee

    U.S. — Thousands of free Americans gathered in cities across the country today to lament their lack of freedom by holding rallies while shouting “Trump is a king!” and exercising their right to freely protest in a free country.

    The downtrodden, oppressed, upper-middle-class populace in urban centers throughout the United States boldly made their voices heard to decry President Donald Trump as acting like an all-powerful monarch as they openly protested and displayed their liberties in the freest society on Earth.

    “Trump is a tyrant! He has taken away our freedoms!” cried Mable Mcclean, a 68-year-old bisexual Episcopalian priest and part-time slam poet. “We will not tolerate any president who sees himself as a king! No kings! Unless it’s Barack Obama. Then, it might be ok to have a king.”

    Anti-Trump protesters raged at his near-omnipotence. “He’s just doing whatever he wants,” another rallygoer said. “Nobody is standing in his way. Except for Congress. And the media. And Hollywood. And multiple rogue federal judges. And every member of the Democratic Party. We don’t even live in a free country where we can protest, which is why we’re protesting. It’s time for us to draw a line in the sand and stand up to demand the right to do exactly what we’re all doing today.”

    At publishing time, the large crowds had dissipated, as it was time for their afternoon Metamucil.

    TRUMP’S PARADE UNDER ATTACK: DEMS HANG NORTH KOREA FLAGS AT WHITE HOUSE –

    TREASONOUS INSULT!

    Radical Democrats have sunk to a new low, hanging NORTH KOREA flags in front of the White House to protest President Trump’s epic military parade celebrating the Army’s 250th anniversary TODAY,

    June 14, 2025—also his 79th birthday!

    This vile

    act, reported at 1:44 PM PDT, spits on our troops and mocks American pride, especially on Flag Day.

    Posts on X are OUTRAGED, with patriots slamming this as proof the left HATES our country-North Korea, a regime that killed over 30,000 U.S. soldiers in the Korean War, now their symbol of defiance!

    President Trump’s warned of “very heavy force” against such disrespect, and with 6,700 soldiers and 150 vehicles rolling through D.C. at 6 PM EST, he’s proving America’s strength! This isn’t protest-it’s TREASON, fueled by the “No Kings” crowd’s meltdown over his border security wins.

    Share to CONDEMN these traitors and BACK

    Trump’s fight for our nation!

  6. A local Facebook page had a post that started off about a current local issue, but then segued into this call for civility and open-mindedness:

    ~~~ “Because here’s the truth: Everyone has good ideas. Not just people who agree with us. And even when we disagree, there’s usually something we can learn, if we’re willing to listen.
    While a controversial figure to many, Jordan Peterson puts it simply: “Assume the person you’re listening to might know something you don’t.”
    He has a point..
    That mindset changes everything.
    Even George Washington saw this coming. In his farewell address, he warned that the spirit of party “serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration.”
    So what if we did the opposite?
    What if we approached each discussion with curiosity, not combat? What if we treated disagreement with respect and debate as a tool, not a weapon?
    Let’s stay curious. Let’s stay neighbors. Let’s keep talking.” ~~~
  9. NJ – That post was meant in a general sense, not in regards to anyone or any issue specifically.
    As for the post at 6:07, I could be mistaken, but I think the writer of this post didn’t “get” the meaning behind those flags. I doubt that they are there in support of North Korea, but they are trying to make a point that Trump’s military parade is reminiscent of North Korea’s military parades. You may disagree with their take on that, but I doubt that the use of those flags is actually in support of NK.
    President Trump is RIGHT-masked agitators need to be arrested! These open-border anarchists think they can intimidate our troops and disrupt law and order. BIG mistake. You don’t mess with a Marine!
    Share this to support our troops and demand these troublemakers face justice! * #BackTheBlue #AmericaFirst #NoKingsRiots
  11. Peggy Noonan, I think, made some timely points this week in a WSJ opinion piece written before today’s parade:
    https://www.wsj.com/opinion/america-is-losing-sight-of-its-political-culture-la-riot-trump-military-parade-474e4f32?st=EaTT9H&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
    ~ America Is Losing Sight of Its Political Culture
    Trump holds a political rally at an Army base and takes joy in sending troops to L.A. We don’t do that.
    ~ I’m going to say something old-fashioned. It’s a thing we used to say a lot but then we got bored with it or it seemed useless. “We don’t do that.” If we don’t say it we’ll forget it, so we have to keep it front of mind.
    President Trump this week gave a speech at Fort Bragg, N.C., to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. It wasn’t like a commander in chief addressing the troops, it was more like a Trump rally. The president spoke against a backdrop of dozens of young soldiers who appeared highly enthusiastic. It was as if he was enlisting them to join Team Trump. Presidents always want to convey the impression they have a lot of military support, especially with enlisted men, but the political feel to the event was more overt than in the past. “You think this crowd would have showed up for Biden?” The audience booed the idea.
    The president’s language and imagery were unusually violent. For 250 years American soldiers have “smashed foreign empires . . . toppled tyrants and hunted terrorist savages through the very gates of hell.” Threaten the U.S. and “an American soldier will chase you down, crush you and cast you into oblivion.” Sometimes bragging for others is really patronizing them, and sometimes they don’t notice.
    “We only have a country because we first had an army, the army was first,” the president said. No, the Continental Congress came first, authorizing the creation of the Continental Army on June 14, 1775. The next month they chose George Washington to lead it.
    The president turned to Los Angeles. “Generations of Army heroes did not shed their blood on distant shores only to watch our country be destroyed by invasion and Third World lawlessness here at home like is happening in California.” “This anarchy will not stand.”
    Then to the excellence of his leadership, and to the “big, beautiful bill”: “No tax on tips, think of that.” “Then we had a great election: It was amazing, too big to rig.” “Radical left lunatics.”
    He was partisan in the extreme. The troops cheered. Previous presidents knew to be chary with this kind of thing, never to put members of the military in a position where they are pressed or encouraged to show allegiance to one man or party.
    We don’t do that. We keep the line clear. In part from a feeling of protectiveness: When you put members of the military in the political crossfire, you lower their stature. People see them as political players, not selfless servants. It depletes the trust in which they’re held. …
    … The president has called a big military parade this weekend in Washington to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary. It is also the president’s 79th birthday, and he enjoys parades.
    Early plans speak of 6,600 soldiers across at least 11 divisions; 150 military vehicles, including 26 M1 Abrams tanks and 27 Bradley Fighting Vehicles. There will be aircraft and howitzers. It all sounds showy, militaristic and braggadocious, the kind of thing the Soviet Union did in its May Day parades, and North Korea still does.
    We don’t do that. We don’t have big military parades with shining, gleaming weapons driven through the streets.
    Sometimes I wonder of the people around the president: Do they know we don’t do this? Have they read any history? Are they like Silicon Valley tech bros who think history started with them?
    … You want a real show of strength? You never stoop to impress. We are so big and strong we don’t have to show you. You don’t have to see what we’ve got, Mr. Tinpot Dictator, and we don’t have to tell you, because what we’ve got is so big—the miles of missiles, the best-trained, best-dressed troops, the tanks—that if we showed you it would crack the roadway of Constitution Avenue, the concrete would crumble under the weight of our weaponry. So we’re just going to let you imagine what we’ve got in your dreams, your nightmares.
    Swaggering threats, parading your strength—we don’t do that, the other guys do that. …
    … Bonus small history: President Bush had scheduled a trip to L.A. around the time of the ’92 riots, and a plan was being cooked up. He was going to give the Medal of Freedom, for a lifetime of entertaining and informing America, to the great and about-to-retire Johnny Carson. Live, on “The Tonight Show,” and they hoped to keep it a surprise. The riots changed the timing and tone of the trip, and Carson was given the medal in a White House ceremony months later. But what a moment that would have been for America, to see the suave and witty man surprised by an honor like that, on the set of his show, from a grateful president who’d come to deliver it personally.
    That’s how we do it. ~
    On to feeding and walking sweet Abby.
  13. I think about how under the previous administration such glory was given to those who had alternative lifestyles and how squashed and defeated the regular military personnel were from the crushing of spirit so that perhaps there is a bit of over response or backlash to counter what was done to the many. Hopefully, in time things will seem more balanced. It is always amazing how critical some can be without walking a mile in the shoes . . .
    (Investigators are slowly piecing it together; many of these folks are a puzzle, angry and motivated by issues, personal and political, and we may never understand what motivated them completely. Very sad.)
    ~ … Who is Vance Boelter? The Minnesota Lawmaker Shooting Suspect: The 57-year-old worked in security and as a pastor. A list found in his car included prominent abortion-rights supporters in Minnesota, according to an official. … (Roommate David) Carlson said Boelter voted for President Trump and was against abortion, considering it murder. But Carlson never thought his views were especially out of the mainstream. …
    … Trying to identify Boelter’s political leanings is challenging, based on available public records. People don’t declare a party when they register to vote in Minnesota. … ~
  15. @9:30pm The Peggy Noonan “we don’t do that” article was interesting, and I even agreed with some of it. Too bad this articulate opinion leader is not as interested in addressing that same message to those in her own profession who have fallen into deserved disrepute. Opinion leaders and journalists around the country could benefit from such wise counsel.
  16. I haven’t been closely following domestic events in the last week or so: I haven’t been following the ‘No Kings’ protests or DC military parade or the LA riots.
    I have been more interested in the potential new ‘forever’ war with Iran that’s being cooked up for us by Israel and our Neo-Cons. Trump says the US had ‘nothing to do with the attack on Iran’ but elsewhere says we knew all about it and support Israel. Israel is using our weapons, and we have troops in Israel guiding them. I’m hoping Trump doesn’t fall into this trap of continued support for Israel in this situation.
    Prayers for wisdom all the way around.
  17. The Noonan piece:
    We watched the parade, trying to find something to hold my dad’s interest. Nineteen year old son was riveted. I could see how something like that can build patriotic thoughts in a person. Son is fascinated with war history and the parade really brought it together for him. A good thing. I even gave him the pause button so he could pause it in his many trips to care for grandpa.
  18. My youngest son was fascinated with war history too, Mumsee. He hung on the words of veterans, their personal stories and their personal lives and how they were affected by the conflicts they experienced. He became the constant companion of one particular hospitalized vet until his death. (It was the father of a girlfriend.) He almost joined the Army once, and I didn’t discourage him exactly. It was around the time the Iraq war was beginning, and I told him to only join if he was prepared to actually fight, kill or be killed. He was a sensitive soul and I do not think he wanted to kill anyone.
  19. Noonan is just so tiresome. A trait she shares with many NTers country wide.
    Too much manliness and strength on display, quick, clutch your pearls! I guess she prefers the quiet, milqtoast types, who rather than show strength send strongly worded letters and looks for consensus with people who don’t have the US’s best interest in mind.
    40 years of her type of strength has left the US military a weakened joke.
    Sorry, those days are over. If this offends Noonan and her ilk, tough.
    Just another example of why I will not be reuniting with establishment types like her and their antiquated foreign policy once Trump leaves office. Every day they demonstrate differing priorities and calls for a return to failed policies. No thanks.
    (The Center Square) – Calls for the resignation of a North Carolina lawmaker, Democratic Rep. Julie von Haefen of Wake County, advocating the decapitation of President Donald Trump escalated Saturday and into Sunday.
    On social media, von Haefen is accused of posting an image of a woman holding signage with the image of a bloody, used guillotine; the words “In these difficult times, some cuts may be necessary”; and a prop on one end of the handle representing a beheaded Trump.
    Minutes after The Center Square sought authentication from her office, she posted to Facebook, “Yesterday, I posted a video on social media containing crowd photos from the No Kings protest in Raleigh. One of the images of a protestor holding a sign was inappropriate, and I later edited the video to remove the photo.
