  3. To me, the Badlands look kind of like the Painted Desert. Mrs L thought the Painted Desert reminded her of the Badlands. It depends on which you see first.

  32. Well I hadn’t been here in a few days, and what do I see?

    Aj’s birthday — Happy Birthday! — and ? Kevin wishing him a happy birthday … let me count how many times … well, maybe not.

    I’m getting over a virus that’s had me laid low for several days (maybe it was the rattlesnake) and I’ve not quite recovered enough to do math yet. But that was a lot of times.

  41. My uncle did eat rattlesnake and kept it in the freezer until he could do something with skin. That was the uncle who sent a buffalo head home with us. It was on our front porch until his brother could pick it up. That was a fun sight for the kids on the school bus. He was also the uncle who was shot by some duck hunters illegally hunting. Decades later he had forgotten and couldn’t figure out why the alarm kept going off when he was trying to get on an airplane. His daughter finally suggested it was the buck shot still in his body. They did let him fly.
