  1. Hello, Wanderers! I know I’ve been absent a lot. I’ve been busy getting ready for speaking at church, or learning new material for my Mark twain performance, or getting ready for a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota.

    Anyway, enjoy your Friday!

  2. Good morning! I have been having tech issues, so am quite crabby this morning. First it was the tv and then trying to get on this site was a big issue. I refused to make a password and join a sight to give donations for the school my two youngest grands attend. It was just the last straw. I did tell the mom I will give her the money. She is already on the website. I don’t think businesses or clinics etc. realize how difficult much of this is for older people who are not tech savvy.

Too bad about the reception site going out of business, M. I sure hope they find another place, ASAP.

A friend let a great grand play a game on her phone only to find out there was a fraud alert from her bank later. The girl seemed to have accessed something from Tik Tok. My friend had to be at the bank first thing in a morning and deal with a closed account and new account opened. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could just catch all the criminals and discourage all this?

I am grateful for my daughters who listen to me crab and also make me laugh so often. I do like that side of technology.

  3. Good morning! Art had an early appointment at Emory. As we drove down the street I said in wonder, “Just to think, that is where I started my life.” So many times I pass that hospital building where I sounded my first cry.

Kathaleena, I am so with you about the difficulties of tech. I finally got the hang of taking a screenshot on my Android. I have to press two buttons simultaneously on the side of the phone and do it for only a moment. If you hold it too long, it goes to the power off grid. I always have to struggle to get those two fingers in sync to even turn off my phone. It’s crazy.

Art has seen too many older people get scammed as he has many retired clients.

  5. Peter, the Black Hills are on our bucket list for ‘some day’

My 90 year old stepmom was supposed to set up an account on line for some back specialist… She and my sister decided it just wasn’t worth it. She wouldn’t be able to use it anyways. Thankfully she still was able to see the doctor – I think my sister called and said “no way”

It was a beautiful warm day here – all the snow in our yard is finally gone (that’s actually a bit early for us). We decided to lay the paving bricks my husband had salvaged last year in front of the greenhouse foundation. They look pretty good if I say so myself. Next step is building the walls – wonder how long that will take?
