  1. good morning. The sun just peeked over the Mesa behind my house. I finished my online part of PALS. Trey and I worked in the garden and repaired a chicken tractor. We will move the chick’s into it today.

my rhubarb is coming up. No sign of asparagus yet. The honey berries and elderberry are coming out. I watered well, so things should start coming up. The peach tree is holding back still, so maybe we will have a crop this year.

  2. You’re a busy bee, rk! My peach blossoms and some herbs are starting to wake up, but I haven’t planted a thing this year. I was hoping to get more perennial plants going last year but only managed one. And my one blueberry bush died last year and I’ve done nothing to replace it yet.

I’ve been thinking about your family lately, and pray Miguel and all of you are well.

  3. It is good to be reminded that our spring will come, too. As it is, it is much more springlike than we have many years. Aren’t we blessed to have freezers that allow us to have berries any time of the year?

We will be off to bring music for the monthly birthday party at an assisted living facility.

  4. Good morning, all. Beautiful sunshine day and planes are up and about.

Oops, erased my paragraph again, must not have been worth telling! Just explaining that we put out the second batch of chicks yesterday but lost the first due to heat lamp failure in the nursery box.

Rhubarb is up, honey berries leafing out. I have tried to start a few more. We will see. Trees are prepping. No sign of the asparagus yet. Dandelions and other spring tasty morsels are emerging.

  5. We’re still having overcast mornings that can linger, but spring and growing season are coming. I need some hanging flower pots for the front porch, I’m trying to keep the poinsettias I used over the holidays for that (which are now sitting on the porch floor) watered and going, but looks like only one still has a live sprig. I did manage to get one established from 2 years ago and that still sits at my front door.

Juggling a dental appt, getting the car in for bumper/fender repair, and the usual work schedule this week.

“Horse trough washing” … mumsee, that’s very “Little House” sounding. 🙂

  6. Thankfully, it has been quite a few years since I had to resort to washing clothes on a rubboard in the bathtub, Mumsee. Parts select has saved me from that fate fir a while.

  7. We had a wonderful in person Bible study this morning. We are still doing Jerry Bridge’s Pursuit of Holiness study. So much good information to process and learn.

We were at 42° early this morning, but that has not stopped spring from its bursting forth with more flowers daily. The level of beauty rises with the pollen count level.

My good friend seems to be afflicted with that awful virus we called the flu. I wish I could drive and reciprocate the help she gave when I was sick. I think she did not believe me when I told her about this type illness being a recycling cold; just when you think you are better, it comes back worse. I think she is becoming a believer, unfortunately.

I would like to have a few new plants for the yard, but it would require someone to drive me to a plant nursery. Right now, grocery stores take priority. I know I could order and have plants shipped, but there is much joy in selecting plant babies oneself.

  8. Bridges is (very) good.

Guess the other party wants to go through insurance on the car accident (they were at fault) so I’m not dealing with all of that, but it moved fast, their insurance co is accepting liability so I just need to pick an auto repair place from their list and it’ll move on from there with repair, rental car etc.

Abby’s taking a morning nap and making her usual little dream noises, woofs and whines, paws and legs twitching … She has an active dream life from the sounds of it.

  9. Quiet, sunny morning here. My friend never saw my text about needing a ride to Bible study. I waited at the street corner for 20 minutes and then gave up. Oh, well

The folks that have my car may come over this afternoon to take showers and perhaps wash their clothes. You never know what will be happening.

Also it sounded like they may be willing to help put up some more things to keep the woodpeckers away.

  10. mumsee, I suspect playing with Nico in the comfort and security of her own backyard … but Nico hasn’t jumped the fence to visit in a while, he may have found “someone new.” ? 😦 Poor Abby.

I need to call the repair shop and then I think they/driver’s insurance co. provides the rental car through the insurance claim made just this morning. A bit of a hassle, but it is no cost to me so that’s good, driver’s claims adjuster quickly conducted his research with some quick phone calls and texts this morning and the company has already accepted liability.

  11. I felt almost sick a little while ago while cooking in the kitchen. I felt so warm and broke a sweat. I finally realized the house had gotten really stuffy and warm, and cooking made it even more so. We had 42° this morning and 78° this afternoon. I changed clothes and feel much better now!

  12. the repairman, after lecturing me about filters, and me saying I thought it was the computer, and after emptying it with his shop vac, and refilling it to prove his point, agreed with me it was the computer. And confirmed they no longer make them for this model.

  13. We still have a foot and a half of snow on the ground – don’t think anything is growing yet. We’ll start seeds when we get home early next week (indoors)
