Following yesterday’s comments about St. Patrick’s Day, I am reminded of a story about my mom. I believe I shared it here before. She volunteered to make all the table pieces for a fundraiser at the church and they were for St. Patrick’s Day. She used shamrocks, but had something on them that was orange, too. People commented how nice it was that she combined the colors in a bid for peace. She had no idea that the orange and green meant anything. She just thought the colors went great together. There was only word of mouth social media in those days, so any fallout would have been minimal. How many times do people do things and others read in a deep philosophical or political message that was never intended? My mom was very amused by it.
I had planned on going to Bible study but my tummy does not feel well so I will Zoom in. We ate too late last night. The salmon patties were especially good and crispy. We both ate more than usual.
I think my phone is possessed. It is acting up when I do texts and when posting.
My mom used to sail a small skiff out in the harbor out of Venice or Marina del Rey or some such. Sometimes she and the Girl Scout Mariners went to Catalina.
We spent time on Catalina in Girl Scouts. Swimming, swimming.
I’ve been out sick today, not sure with what only that I woke up with vertigo (happens from time to time) and feeling under the weather, so canceled a dental appt, told my boss I was spending the day in bed — and I did. I slept for 6 hours, just wiped out.
I could sleep some more, to be honest, but am trying to stay awake now that it’s almost 3 p.m. here.
it’s chilly here and will be back to the 30s this evening. Most of the blossoms are gone on the Birthday tree.
My friend keeps asking me to go so many places with her. I know she thinks I need to get out more, but I actually enjoy being home most of the time. Lately I have been invited to see a movie, go to a prayer retreat, and go to an author’s program. And more.

Great story, Kathaleena. So true how people read things into situations based on personal experiences and what is going on culturally.

We have a low 16% humidity today. So dry!
I hope you feel better soon, Dj.

I hope you feel better soon, too, Dj. I was wiped out the other day. Allergies will do that. Vertigo is no fun.

I’m so sorry to hear that about AJ, I just *believed* Janice when she said he was fishing.
The flu has been going around a lot this year, hoping he’ll feel better soon.

Or she likes to get out, prefers to not go alone, and enjoys your company.
