Good morning! The temp is a chilly 56° now. We continue in the mode that requires at least one extra change of clothes in the day.
Art and I went to his back MRI appt. yesterday, saw the back doctor, had a wonderful chat with the tech who took vitals, then went to lunch as a mini- celebratory occasion for anniversary/birthday, then went to the tire shop to get the indicator light checked out along with seeing if they can repair a damaged side mirror. It was a fun day.
My housework has gotten way behind since I have been out and about so much lately. I did get a triple batch of my sugar free cookie snacks baked last night so I can freeze and have ready for Art to carry to the office.
Today is D1’s 16th anniversary. She and hubby have had a hard week, hopefully things will improve.
Last week they discovered a major sewer line leak. This week the plumber had to tear up their deck, which SIL and his dad replaced 2 years ago.
Monday, their youngest (14 months old) fell from the trampoline and broke his leg. He was on it with an older brother. The older one did not realize the younger was so close to the opening in the net when he jumped, causing the fall. At first they thought it was only a concussion, but his head injuries are minor. They had to go 90 miles to Columbia, MO for a pediatric orthopedic surgeon to get the leg fixed.
Good morning all. A beautiful spring day here at twenty six but headed into the forties. Cloudy today, snow and wind tomorrow, snow and rain the next day. Spring is in the air. Nice day for pi.
I have not been a fan of trampolines. We had one in jr high at the school. When we worked on it, the entire class had to stand around the trampoline as spotters. Even so, one of my classmates went flying over heads and hands, I don’t recall her injuries. And then hearing about the many many injuries on many many children, we never had one.
Morning started out with beautiful sunshine and 35 degrees. I decided to take a package into the FedEx in town before the snow moved in. Left here in sunshine and returned in a whiteout blizzard! Now the sun is shining once again and we have an inch of now melting snow!
So sorry about all the frustrations happening with your girl’s family Peter. Praying for that which is fixable will be fixed quickly and that grandson will sense the care of not only his parents but that of our Lord’s care over him….
And sugar free cookies? Hmmmm
still having issues with Word and signing in and out…”it” won’t accept my valid password and insists my new password when attempting to change it…a big nope from them!

Peter, I’m so sorry, what a big ‘load’ of issues coming all at once. Young bones heal better than old bones, so there is that, but still, poor little one. 😦 It’ll be a story to tell on the brother for probably many years to come.
I took a PE course (or it was just part of an overall course) in college and definitely remember the emphasis on spotters at all times. They’re kind of scary to me, too.
Janice, I had to smile at your idea of a “fun” day — MRI and car repairs.
Things change, don’t they? 🙂 But happy anniversary/birthday celebration again, nice to get a lunch out.
NJ, you have crazy weather. We’ve had some of our own, lots of heavy rain, a possible tornado that touched down and may have taken out one of our McDonald’s signs, strong-strong winds most of the day yesterday. We did get quite a bit of snow in the mountains with snow levels now down to about 3,000 feet which is pretty low. We needed all of it (except the tornado).
It remains cloudy and cold (for us) today, rain likely off and on but then it should fully move out.
I had an early brief appt with the GP to go over blood work (all is stable) and get tested to see if I have any measles protection (pretty sure I don’t); when I got home there were 2 dogs greeting me at the back gate, Nico and Abby. They had a good time chilling and playing (they’ve finally hit their ‘friendship’ stride without the intense drama). Nico took himself home up and over the fence when he was ready to leave.
I am praying all will be safe in the storm that will be over the midsection of the country. Here we have basements to shelter in, but so many do not have those in TN, etc.
I was trained as a teacher on the trampoline and yes, no one was to be on it without many spotters. Two sets of grandchildren have had those and so far, there are no big injuries, thank the Lord. I even joined the grandchildren on there a couple of times. Of course, I was just trying to stay standing! It sounds like when it rains, it pours, for you daughter, Peter. 😦
Art had shots in both his knees and he hardly felt the injections and seems to have gotten good results. That has made this a very good day, too. He returns to the taxing work tomorrow.
Mumsee, thank you for telling me I don’t need to peel the butternut squash. It was delicious cut into chunks and roasted with the peeling left on for a bit of crunch on one side to add a nice extra layer of texture.
Listening to SpaceX Dragon rescue. In awe. Prayers that it all goes smoothly. There are so many nasty comments on social media about a feat that deserves celebration.
I had a couple of those knee shots before I had surgery and was still in PT (hoping to avoid surgery), they were helpful but for me didn’t seem to last too long.
Trying do figure out an international ‘Grand Prix’ catamaran race in our port this weekend, need to cover (remotely) the race to turn in a story tomorrow and I know mostly nothing about it, other than there are 12 teams …
