  1. So sad that our state went from a 17-billion-dollar surplus to a 6-billion-dollar deficit this year. That is quite an accomplishment. That is what happens when the Democrats take over every area of government. To even suggest our governor to run for president is beyond stupid.

  2. “Mark Kelly accused Tulsi Gabbard of spreading Russian and Iranian propaganda during her confirmation for telling the truth about Obama & the CIA destabilizing Syria by trying to overthrow Assad, warning it would lead to chaos and the persecution of Christians. Tulsi was right.”

And those Christians are being persecuted by the radical Islamists currently running things as we speak.

“The Trump admin has repurposed the controversial Biden era CBP One cell phone app into a self deportation app called CBP Home that launches today. DHS tells me any migrants who had the prior CBP One app will have it auto update to this new app, & DHS can use data from prior CBP One registrations to track migrants for removal.

The new app allows illegal aliens and migrants in the US to register with CBP to self deport. They fill out biographical information, including their countries of citizenship, which country they plan to return to, their alien registration numbers, contact information, and it allows them to upload photos of themselves to confirm their identity. All of it is then submitted to CBP, and they leave the country.

You may be asking yourself – why would an illegal alien want to self deport? In a statement to FOX News – DHS Secretary Kristi Noem answers that question.

“The CBP Home app gives aliens to option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return,” Noem said.

“The Biden administration exploited the CBP One app to allow more than one million aliens to enter the United States. With the launching of the CBP Home app, we are restoring integrity to our immigration system.”

DHS says it is significantly cheaper for the US if illegal aliens decide to self deport, and limited ICE resources can instead be used to target criminal aliens.”

  4. O’Keefe broke the biggest corruption scandal ever. But millions know nothing about it thanks to the mostly corrupt media.

    “ActBLUE has committed massive fraud”

“Cindy Nowe, a sweet senior from Annapolis, MD, supposedly donated OVER 1,000 TIMES to ActBlue in 2022—$18,849.77 total! That’s 3 donations A DAY, EVERY DAY, all year long. But when OMG asked her about it, Cindy dropped a TRUTH BOMB: “No, I don’t think so.” 🤯

@OkeefeMedia went undercover, knocking on doors of elderly donors listed in FEC records—some tied to $200K+ in contributions! What they found will make your jaw DROP. Is ActBlue running a SHADY MONEY LAUNDERING SCAM? The evidence is SCREAMING yes! “

  5. When traditional governments fall it’s usually the minority religions that are hit the hardest. Iraqi christians were effectively purged when we overthrew that government. The few christians in Gaza are displaced now. Many christians are being persecuted in Ukraine as well. I don’t think our propensity to engage in so many wars speaks well of our Christianity.

  6. I haven’t really commented much on Canadian – American relations – mostly because I’m trying to ignore most of it since a) there’s a lot of attention seeking hyperbole from different groups and b) nationalism annoys me.

The article linked above didn’t provide much “meat” so here’s a quick summary

Across the board tariffs are dumb and have no value. Retaliatory tariffs are also dumb, so everybody loses. Inflation will return. For Americans, a high dollar may mask the new taxes but right now the US dollar is in decline against the Euro.

Tariffs do work if applied with purpose. For example, there’s currently a 100% tariff on Chinese EVs in Canada, US and Mexico. It’s there to protect the North American auto industry so it can create and promote its own EVs. This makes sense if and only if the automakers use this protection to create a competitive product for when the tariff comes down. Unfortunately, it produced CyberTruck…….

In 2018, Trump along with Canada and the US signed the USMCA free trade agreement. It comes due in 2028. Across the board tariffs violate this agreement. And complicates things for businesses who are currently following the trade rules — hence the auto companies compla to Trump. All this instability creates economic issues and is reflected in the stock market.

Canadian nationalism is different from most developed countries. It favors the centrist Liberal party. The Conservative party tends to be pro American and thus its nationalism is weaker. And the Liberal party is at the article states the default governing party. As soon as Trump started the tariff war, public opinion swung back to the Liberal party as voters moved from both the left NDP and the Conservatives — the Liberals were seen as the safe bet and Carney the new leader is seen as stable, compentent and the adult in the room.

Canada is also extremely pro-Ukrainian and Trump/Vance’s behaviour towards Z made it even more difficult for the Conservatives.

All of this resulted in petty nationalism — boycotts, made in Canada campaigns, etc. Friends I have on social media who never mention politics have become active and of course support Carney.

  7. Cheryl, I live in MN and our governor is the one who ran with Harris. Actually, the surplus was around 19,000, if the latest I heard is correct. All three branches of government were held by Dems. Republicans don’t hold much today. All kinds of mandates and expansion of goodies make for us going more in the hole in spite of the surplus. Then there were all the hundreds of millions in out and out fraud that was found out.

  8. From my readings online, my impression was the victims were Alawites. Looking into it, it appears it is Alawite. My understanding is that there were some Assad supporters still fighting rear guard actions in the north west against the new regimes. This prompted over the top retaliation from the governing coalition. The massacres appear to be mostly done by a group originally supported by the Turks, (not the US) Other parts of the coalition don’t appear to be involved — but I’m sure there’s way too much confusion there to be certain.

And Debra is also right — war especially civil war affects minority communities far more than the ruling ethnic/religious groups. In Iraq, the secular Hussian regime was supported by the Assyrians and thus led to persecution after the fall. In Syria, the Alawites not the Christians are associated with the Assad regime. Christians in Syria have generally tended to look to the secular Kurdish militias for protection.

  9. hrw, I’m not usually on this page but happened over here. The Chinese have now retaliated against the 100% tariff on EVs with a 100% tariff on canola. So… Ottawa protects Ontario and eastern Canada, where the government heavily invested in battery plants, again and the west (Saskatchewan exports canola) pays for it. Doesn’t seem it’s working to me.
