  1. A beautiful sunshiny twenty six here. My dad turns ninety five today. He is doing so much better than when he moved in at ninety two! Both my brothers and one sister in law are coming for his party.

  2. Morning! ⛄️6-7 inches of new fallen snow and 20 degrees. Winds causing deep drifts and messy roads!

Janice your reminder of fish Fridays certainly has brought a smile. How could we ever forget those childhood days?! Thanks for jostling my cobweb brain this morning ! 🐟

  3. NJ, one year in elementary school, my classroom was near the cafeteria so we got all the smells. For some reason, I don’t remember any of the other smells. Only the fish. Perhaps it was because I loved fish yet always brought my bagged lunch from home. I had a fish wish!

  4. Growing up Catholic I remember those fish Fridays well. I often had to say no to a friend when invited for supper on Fridays. We usually had fish sticks or Tuna Helper for supper. Lunch was peanut butter and jelly or tuna salad, since the parochial school didn’t have a cafeteria.

Now-a-days I make sure to have meat for lunch and supper and have peanut butter another day, if at all.

  5. My mom often made creamed salmon on toast. I was excused from tuna and any fishy fish after throwing up in my plate one day. I still cannot eat any fishy fish. I do love fresh salmon, walleye, halibut, crappies and any other fish that does not have the fishy taste. The salmon my mom used was from Lake Superior and did taste fishy. I, too, remember those meat free Fridays.

I have a grandson who is allergic to lake fish. He would break out from just touching them, which makes it difficult when he would fish. He also worked doing some commercial fishing and was okay doing that. He refused to eat the sea fish just in case.
