I am hearing a helicopter heading into the storm. Most likely a life flight. Praying for safety for them and whomever is needing them. And that all would know Christ.

Weather is chilly but pleasant. Lu had to have her shots this morning and she is now sleeping off the anxiety of the office visit.
subject is whoever, object is whom, I believe. But in this situation, it is both, so…. First is the object, do I go with that? Is is closest, making it the subject. Go with that? The problems in my life sometimes seem insurmountable. Where is a good editor when I need one?

Whoever/whomever
Though I’m not an editor, I did teach language for 25 years and have a Master’s in TESOL (teaching ESL).
Praying for safety for them and whomever is needing them
Since it is the object of “praying” I’d go with “whomever” in this case. However, one could argue that “whoever” since it’s the subject of “is”.
See why English is so hard for whomever to learn?

I have read that whom and whomever are being phased out, by lack of use, I think, as our language continues to slowly evolve.
