  1. For those who don’t follow me on FB (and there’s no good reason you should unless you like photos):

Thoughtful reminder from the Colson Center this morning:

“On February 3, 1468, Johannes Gutenberg died.

Not only was he the inventor of the printing press using movable metal type, but he could be considered one of the greatest liberators of thought in human history.

Prior to the printing press, copying by hand was a slow, laborious process that made books expensive and rare.

There was a strong chance, in the copies of copies of copies available for people to read, that copy errors had been made and preserved.

Errors were especially common in works containing scientific charts and diagrams displaying, for example, the positions of planets.”

Marvel at that and then remember the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls proved the hand copying done by all those monks for 2000 years was validated. No errors between the manuscripts written by the Essenes in the Israeli desert prior to Jesus’ birth and those read at the scrolls discovery starting in 1946.

The Lord, obviously, wanted His words preserved–for our benefit.

  2. Yesterday at Sunday school, the teacher discussed that he and his wife had been to the Museum of the Bible and he was talking about Gutenberg.

My friend took me to Sunday school and church. Both gatherings seemed extra special yesterday. My friend does not have a good Sunday school class at her church so I think she might be inclined to return to this one. She loves the teaching and the fellowship.

  3. Good evening. We were on the road today. It was 80° in Both Hobbs and Roswell NM. Not nearly as warm when we got home to the mountains, but a beautiful day none the less.

Son and I were in the gardening mood and spent too much money on seeds and plants at the farm store.

  4. Can one spend too much at the garden store RK??? That sounds like so much fun! 80 degrees??

Spent four hours this morning/afternoon with a friend having coffee…we had lots to say I guess!

Trying to figure out the next steps with Mom. Little sister is trying to figure it all out without interference of older sister and it is all so hard. Mom will be 95 next week no longer able to properly care for herself but is headstrong enough to fight us over it all…🥲
