  1. “We don’t know exactly what caused the Potomac crash. That’s what investigations are for. But President Trump is absolutely correct that for years, across both the Obama and Biden administrations, Democrats put lives at risk by choosing to prioritize diversity over merit and ability.

As just one example among many: The Buttigieg DOT made a hiring push targeted at increasing employment of people with “severe intellectual disability” and “psychiatric disorders.”

Imagine waking up and thinking “Folks, I feel like we don’t have enough psychotic or mentally handicapped air traffic controllers.” That was the Biden Department of Transportation.

The miracle is that we don’t have more plane crashes.”

A Democrat lying? That never happens. 🙄

  2. “MILLER: Trump’s FAA executive order will replace employees not hired on merit:

“It is a betrayal of the American people to say that you are going to prioritize the hiring of people with severe intellectual defects to serve at the Federal Aviation Administration, the entity responsible for ensuring that every single passenger over American airspace safely takes off, safely flies and safely lands.”

“The order President Trump issued today tells the Secretary of Transportation to review every hiring decision at the FAA over the last four years and where someone was not hired based on merit, qualification or competence, that person needs to be replaced.””

“Adam Schiff — who just received an unprecedented, preemptive pardon from a lawless president as cover for his crimes —

    — launches a self-righteous sermon on integrity, democracy and the rule of law:

“We need to think about where we are in this moment. We have a new president. He’s fired prosecutors who investigated him. He’s investigating other prosecutors or his Department of Justice is he’s fired inspector generals who might hold him accountable. “How did we get here? Where we are defending a nominee like this, who makes songs with convicts who attack law enforcement?

How did we get here? And where are we going? History is littered with democracies that lost their freedoms and didn’t notice it while it was happening.”

“A grand jury in Louisiana just indicted a New York doctor who has been prescribing abortion pills to Louisiana residents in violation of state law.

“Doctor” Margaret Carpenter now faces up to 15 years in prison, $200k in fines, and the loss of her medical license. Her company and a third person are also included in the indictment.

  7. Remember this as the media cries over the long overdue downfall of DEI.

    https://x.com/AdamLaxalt/status/1885375595338412419?t=QnqnYGCIJ9Y3zDtOhIfoyA&s=19

“Here are some thoughts after over a year of litigating Brigida v Department of Transportion, a DEI Air Traffic Control case against the Biden FAA and DOJ:

The FAA pushed its radical DEI agenda for decades. It watered down the air traffic control aptitude test multiple times for the stated purpose of increasing Air Traffic Control(ATC) diversity, until finally a questionable character self-assessment was worth far more than the ability to understand flight paths and intersecting angles.

Under both the Obama and Biden Administrations, the FAA was influenced by DEI fanatics to change its air traffic control hiring process. Rather than stick with the science, the agency used an ATC aptitude test – if it can even be called that – that prioritized skin color and sex over actual competence.

During the Obama Administration more than 2000 qualified & vetted men and women were lined up to become air traffic controllers. They’d demonstrated their competence and eagerness to protect the American skies and were just waiting on orders from the government. The order that came was to remove them from the ATC queue altogether. The reason: Obama’s FAA decided they weren’t racially diverse enough.

The Obama Administration threw out the results of an ATC aptitude test proven to select the best candidates in favor of a 10 minute self-assessment that had zero guardrails against cheating and even less to do with air traffic. Anyone who failed according to the FAA’s secret scoring system was denied the job, no matter how highly they’d scored on the actual ATC aptitude test.

In the name of DEI, Obama’s FAA instituted an air traffic control hiring exam that awarded applicants points for being bad at science in high school, being unemployed, and having below average communication skills. The candidates who were actually qualified to be ATCs but were denied the chance to protect American skies because they didn’t pass this sham test sued to correct the injustice, but the Biden admin championed the DEI cause in court with even greater ferocity.

Back in 2013 the Obama Administration promised a “historic transformation” of the FAA. To make our skies safer? To become more technologically advanced? To study flight patterns of the busiest airspace? Obama’s promise was to make air traffic control a more diverse and inclusive workforce, and Biden doubled down on it.

Talent and experience for these jobs is a long pipeline. Losing so many qualified applicants out of only 14,000 Air Traffic Controllers, and losing potentially countless applicants since, has resulted in chronic staffing shortages and serious overtime.

No sane American cares about ATC sex and skin color, because they know it’s an obsession that, as I predicted many times last year and as recently as 2 weeks ago, would result in tragedy.”

  8. Democrats seem nervous….

Durbin has been covering for Epstein and his buddies for years. He lied about it again today. He should be afraid.

“BREAKING: Marsha Blackburn just GLORIOUSLY called out all the Democrats who fear Kash Patel’s confirmation. The Epstein Client List is coming!

Blackburn: “Why are the Democrats so afraid of you?”

Patel: “I don’t know, Senator. You’d have to ask them.”

Blackburn: “I wanna talk to you about the Epstein case. I have worked on this for years, trying to get those records of who flew on Epstein’s plane and who helped him build this international human trafficking s*x trafficking ring.”

“Now earlier, I urged then Chairman Durbin to subpoena those records, and I ended up being blocked by Senator Durbin and Christopher Ray.”

“They stonewalled on this, and I know that breaking up these trafficking rings is important to President Trump.”

“So will you work with me on this issue so we know who worked with Jeffrey Epstein in building the s*x trafficking rings?”

Patel: “Absolutely, Senator. Child s*x trafficking has no place in the United States of America. And I will do everything, if confirmed as FBI director, to make sure the American public knows the full weight of what happened in the past.”

  9. Democrats and the media should stop lying about this. Few were violent, and many of those that were, were reacting to aggressive police abuse.

140 officers allegedly injured, yet 2037 officers were injured as a result of BLM riots, and no one was charged. It’s BS.

    https://x.com/AmericanHubener/status/1885046524888879114?t=rff4btDgd7wWwecqGHHISA&s=19

“Of the 1,580 J6’ers that Durbin is referring to, a total of 69 (4% of total) were charged with assaulting an officer with a weapon, most of which were blunt objects like flags and sticks. 96% were charged with lesser crimes, the majority for trespassing in their own House.

Capitol Police under the direction of Pelosi fired tear gas on a peaceful crowd and killed 4 unarmed protestors.

J6 Protestors had zero firearms and killed NO ONE but many were injured protecting protestors from police brutality.

The only one guilty of Insurrection on J6 was the Pelosi FBI who staged an unarmed insurrection by throwing tear gas on a peaceful crowd so they could use the ensuing melee and their own murder of protestors as justification to call off 14 hours of objections to the certification.”

  10. Planes crash because of human error, mechanical problems, weather or terrorism or a combination; usually the first two. From all appearances the crash in questions was probably error or mechanical or both. Hopefully, a proper investigation without political interference or agendas can point out the cause and give hints for improved travel.

Given the pilots were both white males, and probably the controller DEI did not cause the accident. And if we are going to blame DEI and Obama era hiring practises, should we not credit them for over 15 years of safe flying??

  11. The Gaza condom outcry is amusing. Trump et al all claimed not only were Hamas getting millions of condoms (why?) but they were using them to make bombs. Huh??

American politicians making world geography errors has become a cliche but this one is amusing — did nobody stop to think that was far too many condoms for a mostly Muslim country?? Even if Muslim adherence is weak (and its not there), nobody is pocketing that many condoms in Gaza — they need to keep up appearances.

Meanwhile, condoms in Gaza, Mozambique are necessary to keep the AIDS epidemic at bay. World travel makes AIDS prevention is southern African a good thing for Americans at home. We are all about roughly seven degrees away from Kevin Bacon — or anyone else on this planet.

  12. So George on Twitter posted about a New York doctor being indicted in Louisiana — but no links. I wander over here to get a different perspective on the news but the steady diet of random X tweets isn’t helpful. I still have questions here.

Did the doctor prescribe the drugs in Louisiana or did she prescribe online from New York for patients in Lousiana and send them via US Post? New York law allows for the abortion drug to be described and any material sent through the post is subject to interstate commerce rules ie its federal not state law.

I know some states are trying to prevent abortion drugs from being used in their states but I’m not sure these rules are constitutional. And this is coming from a Canadian, so others must be wondering the same thing. Instead of an X link perhaps a news article with details would have answered my questions.

In the end, I’m sure the doctor is not leaving New York or at least not going to Louisiana. I’m sure the post office will still send drugs across state lines. So I’m not sure how Louisiana will proceed from here. My guess is they know they are shaky grounds and this is just a scare tactic.

  13. The big news in Canada about the US is of course tariffs. In general tariffs make very little sense especially between long established trading partners. They should be used to protect new industry or industry important for security. Across the board tariffs don’t qualify.

Part of the issue is Trump’s decision making process. He views bargaining/trade/treaties etc as win-lose proposition. This is usually the case in a real estate and sometimes in an ordinary business deal although win-win deals are also possible. However, in international trade/affairs, deals are usually struck so that there are winners on both sides (unless its a peace treaty — but then that can backfire eventually see Versailles). You need to deal with various entities, countries and politicians for years on end and thus a “winner take all” deal won’t help the next time around.

The current tariff threat is interesting for various reasons. The US has a deficit with Canada but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. First, its mostly due to the import of Canadian crude oil. Take away oil imports and its relatively even. Second, a deficit means the US has more wealth than Canada from trade; it’s not a negative in the sense it’s a debt. It’s not country to country trade. It’s corporations moving stuff back and forth and more stuff stays on the US side. Third, in the auto industry, the stuff crosses the border more than once. And finally trade is calculated using US dollars and hence the strength or weakness of the dollar will change the deficit/surplus. It could be mostly surplus.

Tariffs of course are a consumer tax. In that respect, tariffs will ultimately be paid by US consumers. If Cdn crude oil is included in the tariffs, its estimated that gas prices will go up 50 to 75 cents per gallon. Of course, we can easily see oil companies using this as an excuse to increase profits. Of course, this will lead to inflation……

Consumer taxes are of course regressive in the same way as sales tax. They will affect the poor more than the rich on a relative basis ie as a percentage of income. From what I understand the Republicans plan income tax cuts for the wealthy top 5% — tariffs will go a long way to fund this and of course increase inequality.

And finally the best thing about the Trump tariff threat……its made Canadian conservative politicians less popular. Trump may have saved me from a majority conservative govt.

And here’s a good read on tariffs
