  1. Good morning! We have arrived with highs in th 60s and next week expect to hit 70 again. Sunny days do bring joy!

Thanks, Peter, for the Muppets clip yesterday. Such imaginative work went into that production.

We have the Muppet museum at the Center for Puppetry Art’s here in Atlanta. We held our son’s 3rd birthday in a little room there and invited his whole preschool class and teachers along with friends to see a play, The Bremen Town Muscians. I made the cake and fixed lunches for all who attended. I had more energy back then. We had to transport and set it all up. Since the birthday was in July, it was like a joint class reunion and birthday party.

  2. Back when we did that party, the room was free to use. I see now they have Birthday packages which cost at least 12.00 per guest. We could never have afforded to do what we did back then. I did buy tickets for each person to see the play which was plenty enough IMO to get free use of the birthday room. Now it seems it caters to the wealthy families.

  3. Good morning, all. Twenty one and headed to forty degrees here.

Not certain I agree Cheryl. My calendar says we are on twenty nine and there are thirty one in January. Just because February is short does not mean you skip the last couple of days in January. But you live in another part of the world and maybe you do things differently there. Here in beautiful Idaho, every day counts.

  4. Take the following with a grain of salt. I could be wrong.

Then again, why risk it with the Word of God?

    From a long-time writer friend:

Frankenstein Scripture Warning: If you use Google Search to confirm or find a Scripture in a particular translation that you want to cut and paste into your manuscript for accuracy, you may be in for a surprise. Google Search is now powered by AI, and AI may cobble together parts of different translations to create something new—something you might not want to publish in your new book.

Bible Gateway is a much better alternative for finding the Scripture you’re looking for. If you can locate the hidden “p” symbol on the left side of the screen, you can compare multiple translations at once. Bible Hub is another great option, allowing you to view over a dozen translations at the same time.

Several years ago, a pastor we follow warned us that 95% of the Bible printed world-wide are printed in China.

He advised us to pick up any Bible we see for sale at thrift shops, yard sales, little libraries, and stow them at home.

There will come a time when the wordings have been changed to advance a specific agenda that has nothing to do with Jesus.

We, then, can at least hand out “real” Bibles.

As a (now former) Bible study leader, the dearth of Biblical knowledge in the US and the world is at an all-time low. People don’t know how to read Scritpure with their own eyes and ask God to explain it to them.

That makes them vulnerable to garbage, lies, and deceit.

And with the problems cropping up over Biblical exegesis and now in the above warning, the sheep are lambs being led to a weird slaughter.

We need to learn how to read the word of God–and there are better, more accurate versions than others–ourselves and not rely on Twitter or Google to explain God’s word.

(Best versions: ESV, NKJV, 1985 NASB, according to one Bible scholar I know)

I personally like NKJV, but I’ve used ESV for years.

In writing my Bible-based blog posts, I use Bible Gateway and Bible Hub (for the Strong’s Concordance references) exclusively.

    That’s it from me.

  5. Michelle, thanks for the heads up. I had not thought of AI interference in that way. I usually use blueletterbible as my go-to also for Strong’s, although I have 2 hard copies of Strong’s (one from the ‘free bin’ of books being thrown away at our local used book seller). I also found one leather bound NIV in the free bin. Treasures.

  6. Most of my Giant Print Bibles are made/printed in China because they are newer Bibles. They appear accurate as printed, but that could change with time.

Thinking of all the underground Christians in China that they would get the word out, in God’s way, about manipulation of Bible wording and printing. Hopefully at least.

Yesterday we discussed Bible Gateway at ladies’ Bible study group.

  7. well, I see it is the twenty ninth in Jersey, too. Interesting.

QOD Answer: depends on the month. Thirty one or thirty or twenty eight. So I would say, depending on your calendar, Feb 28 or Feb 26 OR March 1st. The likelihood would of course be March 1st but reality says Feb 26. I live in reality, I don’t know about you folk. We are ahead of the times here, so, evidently, we will march into March ahead of you!
