  1. Good morning. Among our tasks today will be trying to find paperwork for the water heater. We noticed our water was not hot yesterday. Since there were some outages because of high winds (although we had no outage with our other power) we waited to see if we would have hot water today. Seems we do not. The water heater is not that old. Hopefully, it is an easy fix.

  2. Good morning! If it is a gas water heater, and the pilot goes out, it can be relit, but surely y’all would have thought of that.

The weather here is headed for a cool down. That’s a good thing as we head toward Thanksgiving.

  3. I’ve long said that one of the marvels of the way God created us is “redundancy,” that is the fact that God created us with multiple factors that do more or less the same thing. If one part of the immune system shuts down, for instance, we still have several more that should work.

Here’s a report of fascinating studies into disease resistance separate from the immune system. https://getpocket.com/explore/item/what-if-we-tolerated-diseases?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us

  4. Good morning, all. Another dusting of snow as we creep slowly into winter. Beautiful!

this weekend is our tiny church’s community invited Thanksgiving dinner. Mike picked up thirteen turkeys at ninety nine cents a pound while in Montana. Various parties will be roasting them and deboning. No idea what the turn out will be but somebody thought it was a good idea and here we are. Should be fun for those involved. Not sure people understand it is free but so be it.

  5. Our pastor is doing a Thanksgiving meal at the church. Another ministry nearby is also doing one. Which all reminds me of when a relative told me (at our meal) that he went to three feasts that year.

I found the paperwork and the water heater was put in about six years ago. We thought two or three. Time flies. It is electric bought from the electric company and they are sending someone out today. Our last one lasted over 40 years and we never had to call for any service. I guess the Second Law of Thermodynamics is affecting all the new appliances. 😉

  6. I’ve had a long day but am now relaxing at home.

Coffee with a friend whom I have not seen since June. Three hours go quickly whilst catching up! Even though her husband and mine have breakfast together every Tuesday we still needed to catch up on our comings and goings. Husbands tend to reply “fine”!when asked how the families are doing! Details! 😊

So I get home and husband asks how they are doing. I tell him and he says “ I didn’t know that”!! What do these guys talk about!!? He just saw her husband yesterday!😂

  7. Thankfully the water situation was remedied quickly. We had a couple of burnt-out fuses in a lock box only the electrician is supposed to open. They were easily replaced.

We will watch our grandson play his last university concert this evening. Then he will begin student teaching next semester. In the spring he will be off to boot camp and then if all goes well, he will play in the Marine Band somewhere in the world. God willing, that is.

  8. So hot showers in the morning! Thankful it was a fixable fix!

Our hot water heater has given us pause now and again but so far it hasn’t gone caput! Husband flushed it a couple time and adjusted the temp and it seems to have righted itself. I am not certain if it has ever been replaced since 1998 but I know it hasn’t since 2010! We did have to replace the furnace and the well pump though.

Kathaleena what instrument does grandson play? I remember going to our granddaughters concert in High School. She played the trumpet.

  9. We have just begun what looks like ten days of rain. Sure glad that I got new tires last week. The driving was fine, but I went out a second time to grandsons indoor soccer game. Then drove home in the dark with all the rain. Visibility was poor. May have to limit night driving during rain.

Soccer game was great. The indoor game is so well done. Since the walls eliminate any balls going out of bounds. they just keep playing. Also the field is smaller and it makes for a good game.

Our Revelation study was also good. So much in that book.
