We got to meet our son’s girlfriend last night. A very nice young lady, beautiful and with an intellect to match his. God is good.
I am back in touch with my liberal friend here. They had a disaster where they live. She and hubby needed my calming support over the telephone. God’s peace and wisdom shared.
Janice, how fun to meet the girlfriend – I’m so thankful for the DIL my son chose – she’s incredible and I love her so much.
My sister is still having ‘fun’ with all the parent stuff. It’s so hard. I’m sure glad Mumsee was able to take in her dad, as hard as that is. Our dad is just not able to not be in care.
I’m catching up here late almost every day and praying for your requests – just wanted to let you know.
I’ve decided to retire at the end of the year, so I’m busy wrapping things up at work and trying to leave things so the transition to a new admin person goes well for camp. I will miss it and mostly the staff but I feel a relief and happiness that my brain will not have to work quite so hard anymore.
That’s a big step to transition to retirement. It sounds like a good time to do it and have more time for the growing grandchildren who will benefit from more time with you.
My sisters in law both retired. But both have spent a good deal of time back at work, answering this question or that or filling in for weeks or training another new person….
Husband retired twenty five years ago and has been working ever since.
Janice, exciting, so glad you met her and like her 🙂 Sounds serious, blessings.
I may retire one of these days but still paying off the Cherokee (1 more year to go) and trying to plug more into that 401K. Plan is then to freelance afterward for some random income to help get the ends to meet. …
Restless night last night with noises under my bed (groan, really?) that sent me to the living room to sleep. Traps still awaiting …
Abby’s trainer returning this afternoon for an additional idea for training and planning to eat out at some point with friend.
And wow, amazing 1st World Series game last night, ending in the 10th inning (tied 2-2) with a Dodger grand slam home run. Woo-hoo. Fireworks all over the neighborhood. Pretty spectacular.
I am glad my sister was able to care for our mother, also. I do wish she would not have destroyed so many relationships doing it. I pray it all works out for your family Kare and that you’re able to get all your retirement issues done efficiently.
Our raccoons are too wary of the cages but they don’t get released elsewhere. Released elsewhere is just adding to somebody else’s problem, in my eyes.
Here they are taken from urban/ suburban neighborhoods of houses to a park or natural area outside the city so hopefully not dumped on another neighborhood.
The problem with that, according to the humane society, free wild, etc, is that the animal is placed in another animal’s territory, where it will have to fight for territory before it can begin to find food and shelter. If it does survive, it is likely to be moving disease to a new location. Our soft hearts of course all think relocation is the answer but the truth is much harsher than that.
Similar to releasing a pet near that farm because the farmer will care for it.
I had my children collect a bat once in New York. It was walking on the ground in broad daylight and children were attempting to play with it. The official response was it would be relocated but in reality it was probably killed and checked for rabies.
My friend in Birmingham could not have indoor pets due to her husband’s allergies. When I visited them, they had a feeding time on their patio for raccoons. I did not real8ze at the time that it was not wise. I thought how cute they were.
Good Saturday morning!

Yes, husband hired a retired lady to work part-time. Her former employer needed her back. Now she works full-time and part-time, lol

My dad went to bed before the first inning was done so we turned off the tv.

Retirement: Putting on new tires. That seems common now-a-days.

Good morning, all from another beautiful day in Idaho. Forty two degrees out and the raccoons are still freely wandering.

We caught our raccoons in cages and got them released by animal control elsewhere. But I imagine you have more of an endless supply there, Mumsee.
