  1. Morning. Chas loved Cheerios!!

Had to wait to take the dogs out this morning. Two coyote decided it would be fun to scout around the house at 5:30am. Thankful the driveway alarm detected them as I watched them on the cameras! Both dogs had noses to the ground once it was all clear and they could go out!

  2. Taking a friend (without a car) to her PO Box to see if her ballot has arrived. Maybe we will grab a quick breakfast out on the way back; Abby’s trainer returns at 3 p.m. She’s very patient, said maybe today we’ll take her on a “fun” trip to a park.

A new general beginning training class begins Nov. 9 (taught by this trainer) and I really want us to be there. But we can’t unless I get her reliably in and out of the car.

  3. NJ, scary about the coyotes. I haven’t heard them in a group howl in a while, but I know they’re all around us here.

The 2 neighborhood cats were visiting my front porch yesterday — LiLu the resident black and white cat and “Buffy” the new kitten who is strongly disliked by LiLu.

Buffy was heading up my porch steps — I could only see her eyes and ears peeking over the edge as she paused, eliciting yowls from LiLu who then fled rather than tolerate being in the same space with “that” annoying kitten. 🙂 They’ll hopefully bond at some point.

  4. We had that here during corn hole. The old black cat (Little One) was lounging around enjoying some quiet family time when one of the little interlopers arrived, full of bounce and vigor. He moved to another perch but the kitten followed and indicated he wanted up there too. Little One reached out and gave it a swat. Eventually, he went off on a pout to catch some comfort food. I reminded him he was sharing a food bowl with that very kitten the night before.

  5. Well a couple nights ago around 11 I had to take the girls out. Coyotes were howling one property away. I kept growling at Pip to hurry up and get her business done! Lula has tussled with coyotes before and I think she was looking for a chance to get back at them! Lu has a tuft of white hair on top of her hair where it once was black. They pulled that area out of her head whilst tussling and our vet said it would come back white…it did! Looking forward to husband returning home tomorrow so he can enjoy all this wild excitement!

  6. I am thankful for the little rain we have gotten. We spent the morning going to a local craft show to visit with a few relatives had booths. Tonight, we have a monthly country show to go to and visit friends with. The leaves are peaking so every drive leads to seeing some trees in their glory.

  7. Good morning, all. We are all dressed and ready for church, where we will encounter some with free will thoughts, others with picked from His toolbox for His purposes and we all love each other!

  8. Good afternoon. It is a beautiful day here. The air does not contain that chemical smell. Oh, the things we take for granted until we don’t have them.

Son is in town. He’d been to a conference at Covenant College. Thankful he could take me to Sunday school and church since Art had to work, with the extension deadline coming up this week.

We had the perfect Sunday school lesson for son to hear. It was about Paul addressing the different groups and catering his messages as needed (I doubt that he changed his accent though, just the content of the messages).

We are in our month of missions focus. We had a missionary we support from the Horn of Africa to speak. He did a great job, but with a heavy accent. I had to pay very close attention. Our sanctuary is decorated with flags from many nations. Glad that son got to see that.

“Elon Musk explains exactly how Space X’s Mechazilla can catch the Super Heavy booster.

On Sunday morning, Space X successfully caught a 20+ story tall rocket booster.

“This is a custom-built tower with arms that are designed to catch the largest flying and heaviest flying object ever made and pluck it outta the air.”

“It’ll weigh about 250 tons. We’ll make that lighter over time.””

  10. Car training with Abby, some disappointing failures, loud barking by a passing dog being walked. (I’m having to keep careful watch for dog walkers coming our way so I can get Abby up the driveway and far enough away, this time we didn’t get far enough. “Oh, he’s friendly” owner said, but dog was pretty excited and the barking became aggressive which unnerved Abby.)

Trainer swung by once to break my stalemate with getting Abby in the car after I’d texted her about our failures. Ended on a successful note.

    Tomorrow’s another day.
