  1. None if this would have happened if the #USELESSGOP had done their job of oversight, and used the power of the purse to stop it. They didn’t. They’re complicit in the invasion.

“It is essential for Americans to know that Democrats created the legislative authority to put FEMA into the illegal migrant business. And then many Republicans voted to fill FEMA‘s wallet with hundreds of millions of dollars to do so.”

  2. It’s weird how dems want to censor their political rivals, yet when it comes to the hatred from their base, not a peep.

“The pro Hamas ISIS supporters are marching through Manhattan and I don’t see a police officer in sight?

I think this is just the beginning when you allow supporters of pure savages threaten, intimidate & push those they hate on the streets of New York.

    What has happened to 🇺🇸”

Answer: Democrats are in charge, that’s what’s happened to America.

  3. Texan Carrie McKean of CT does a book review with important conclusions for us in these days…

    https://www.christianitytoday.com/2024/10/we-have-never-been-woke-review-musa-al-gharbi/

“This is where the church can shine if we turn away from our political idols and self-aggrandizement and turn toward Jesus. We can remind one another that what we have in common in Christ is far more profound and significant than what separates us. We can move from that common ground to be agents of social repair in our communities. With God’s help, we can live and serve and even engage in politics in humble, practical, other-oriented love.

Despite his deconversion, al-Gharbi concludes We Have Never Been Woke by quoting Jesus in Matthew 6 and warning against “performative displays” of righteousness. That’s a problem on the left, the book’s main subject for critique, but it’s also a problem on the right and in every group of fallen, sinful humans. It’s a problem in my own heart. “Ultimately, Jesus argued, people have to choose what’s really important to them,” al-Gharbi writes, “and it’s a choice they make with their actions, not their words. You know the tree by its fruit.”

As I came to better understand in the years between 2016 and 2020, conservatives can rightfully dislike the rotten fruit of our cultural elites. But if we’re to fully benefit from al-Gharbi’s message, we must turn this scrutiny on ourselves as much as our political rivals: What fruit are we bearing? Is it carefully arranged to make us look righteous? Or is it good and abundant and beautiful and life-giving fruit, bringing glory to God and nourishment to all?”

  4. Another book review here:

~ In his book Strange New World, Carl Trueman warns believers against both despair and blind optimism: “To fall into the former would be to fail to take seriously the promise that the church will win in the end because the gates of hell shall not prevail against her. To engage in the latter is simply to prepare the stage for deeper despair later. And both will feed inaction, one out of a sense of impotence, the other out of naïveté” (185).

Instead, believers should traverse these dark roads with hope. Not a false hope that pretends problems don’t exist, but a hope that sees the issues and yet perseveres; a hope rooted in the ultimate reality of who God is, the good news of the death and resurrection of Christ, and the imminent return of Christ. As Trueman explains, “Christian Hope is realistic. It understands that this world is a vale of tears, that things here are not as they should be, and that . . . all life death does end. This world is not the Christian’s home, and so we should not expect it to provide us with home comforts” (185).

Christians have hope no matter what happens. While some well-meaning believers may argue otherwise, Scripture never tells us that we will win the culture wars. The Bible never states that if Christians vote correctly or boycott the right companies, the kingdom will spread, and the church will grow. Conversely, the Scriptures warn that believers need to prepare themselves for persecution. … ~

  5. Trump shows up with 25 million in hurricane relief funds he raised. Kamala shows up with her usual bag of lies.

“Kamala — who held a fundraiser when Hurricane Helene hit and went on a sex podcast as the death toll doubled — calls President Trump’s criticism of her response “callousness”:

“He puts himself before the needs of others. I fear that he really lacks empathy.

    DISGUSTING!”

  6. Just another victim.

    Thank Joe and Kamala.

“A woman in a wealthy neighborhood of Dallas held at gunpoint in her home by four illegal migrants from Venezuela. She was tied up, threatened, and struck with a pistol while they ransacked her home, according to police records. ICE officials tell me that one of these migrants crossed into the U.S. illegally through El Paso in March. He has been arrested at least twice before this, including for DWI, but despite his conviction, he was released back into the community.”

  7. George Barna on The Charlie Kirk Show: “Tens of millions of evangelical Christians do not plan to vote in this election. Unless something drastically changes in the coming weeks, then Christians staying at home will hand the White House to the Dems. They’re also saying, ‘We’re fine with Dems taking over the House and the Senate.’”

  8. CBS is useless propaganda, once again, to aid a democrat.

“CNN just ROASTED Kamala for saying she wouldn’t have done anything different than Biden on The View:

“I’m surprised, frankly, that she doesn’t have more to say about this…one of the main things she’s been trying to establish as part of her candidacy is the idea that she would represent a break from the past four years.”

This is a change election and Kamala is just more of the same, only worse.”

  9. I’ll just leave this here:

The full phrase is usually stated as “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” which is often attributed to Edmund Burke, meaning that if good people stay silent or inactive in the face of injustice, evil will prevail

Stay home if you must. Don’t vote for the one who will stand for freedom and justice.

I know of no one who puts their trust in “Comforts of home” The vote is a stand against evil….period. We stand ready in the face of persecution and trust wholly in our God. It is NOT political… it is a stand for truth. But some just cannot see past their hatred for the person standing with them.

  10. The misinformation around FEMA can usually be attributed to confusion and the breakdown of usual communication channels but its weirder than usual this year.

The claim FEMA is out of money and only $750 will be given to each victim is of course wrong and Trump should know better. The 750 is emergency relief and more money will be available once the “dust” settles and damages are assessed. As past president Trump should know this and thus is either deliberately lying or actually doesn’t know and wasn’t that involved when he was president.

Of course, the southern Republicans who complain about the lack of money might want to look in the mirror as they voted against FEMA funds to spite Biden.

I thought it strange that FEMA was in the “migrant business” – surely that’s a different department. And its a legitimate criticism to make – when the dust settles. Yet Trump can’t make that criticism; turns out he came up with the idea, diverting disaster funds from FEMA to the southern border in 2019.

But the weirdest bit of misinformation is Greene claiming Democrats control the weather and deliberately targeting Republican areas.

  11. The last few days I noticed some posts on polls on Hamas support. Polling is not an exact science and even within stable western countries some polls are pure junk. Polls in the middle east are even worse. Many are push polls designed to create a specific response.

My concern is the use of these push polls to further dehumanize the people in Palestine. Yes many Palestinians support Hamas but this doesn’t mean Israel gets a moral pass to demolish Gaza and pursue what looks to be ethnic cleansing or even genocide. And then I read terms like “savages” being used – why? Is it so they appear less than human?

Push polls and polls in general hide the complexity of the situation. Many Christian Palestinians support Hamas which at first glance appears strange but Fatah corruption, Hamas social services, and nationalism are factors here.

  12. Harris was initially criticised by the right for lack of media availability and a platform but now that she is on a media blitz and has a platform, they still have a problem.

From what I understand the podcast is quite popular with young women, a key Democratic demographic that needs to be motivated to the polls. Hence, young democrats were quite happy to see her there.

Editing by 60 minutes is to be expected. They have a limited amount of airtime and will edit to fit in the key points Harris made. Trump can’t really complain as he has turned down the same opportunity to appear on 60 minutes. Strategically, he really should have as 60 minutes have a more Republican friendly demographic – older and white. Trump and his handlers seem to have given up on media appearances and concentrating on rallies — he’s more comfortable and its obvious he’s having a hard time with criticism and staying focused.

Its probably a good move — the more he appears in the media he motivates people to vote against him and he has very little chance of increasing his voter base. Harris on the other hand has to push for voter turnout. In American politics, the Democrats win when more people vote and the Republicans win when people stay home.

  13. Debra — currently it is estimated that 3-5% of Gaza is Christian. Prior to the establishment of Israel the whole of Palestine was thought to be 10-15% Christian. As you can imagine the numbers are debatable. My point was that even Christians, in particular cases, have and will support Hamas.
