  1. Concerning N T Wright, part of what son texted:

“There are some aspects of his reading of Paul that go against Reformed articulations of soteriology–has to do with what it means to be part of Israel/The Church. I personally find that part of his writing and his critics to be overly technical, to be super incensed about. Context is that he is trying to read Paul in light of 2nd Temple Judaism (original era), while some would say that Reformers and Luther are reading Paul through their response to late medieval legalism.

“His [writing] on Resurrection and Eschstology is really good and helpful.”

“I haven’t listened to that particular book, but I’m sure it would be worth reading. He sometimes overstates his case on some things, but is usually pretty helpful–just have to sometimes recognise that good arguments for other positions exist, too.”

  2. Janice, I loved what your son said, “I personally find that part of his writing and his critics to be overly technical, to be super incensed about.” When I read the links on the subject it was all over my head. Having your scholarly son call it “overly technical” made me feel better. 🙂

  3. Thank you, Kevin. Our son is in a good place to help the young adjust to their first college experience. He is patient and gets good evaluations and quite a few students go on to take more classes from him. He is not arrogant as some profs are. I would like him even if we didn’t call him,”Son.” I wish I could have had even one prof like him, but I went to a state school and not a Christian school as I would have preferred.

  4. So dog trainer is out of commission recovering from a dental procedure, she was going to stop by late today to see if she could help again with Abby; I’ll give it another try myself until trainer can get back here on Thursday.

I love this big sweet dog to pieces.

But honestly … Abby, just get in the car. Please?

  5. Pete Rose died. “Charlie hustle” … he should have been in the hall of fame…I no longer watch but it was all but a requirement when I was a kid from the Cincy area 😊

  6. We used to get free “straight A tickets” when we lived in Ohio in the ’70s. I have watched many a Red’s game, or I should say I watched people as they watched the game.
