  1. Hey, do I get to be first?

Yesterday I received an envelope sent by UPS and needing a signature, sent by my alma mater. It turns out that my photo of Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona, had been accepted as the October photo in their annual calendar, earning me $100 and two copies of the calendar. That was a delightful surprise!

  2. Sweet news, indeed, Cheryl.

I was here yesterday today. Waited for today to come. 🙂

In the sixties outside. It will be too hot. Yesterday I saw that the record high for that day was made in 1884 or close to that. Many people think those temperatures are all new. We will have cool by the weekend.

  3. Congratulations Cheryl!

It’s a sweatshirt morning here, I already picked friend up from car mechanic’s shop and delivered him home. Driving back I saw that the big vacant parcel in town is getting prepped for the annual pumpkin patch w/rides and entertainment.

But I kept thinking today was Thursday so that was a serious letdown when I realized it wasn’t. … 😦 It’s been a busy week so I kept thinking it should be going extra fast for me (but it apparently isn’t).

  4. Sweatshirt weather here, too. Made the trek into Saskatoon today for an ENT appointment. Sinus surgery is in the future for me, but it will be very welcome.

Purchased my husband’s retirement gift today – let’s just say hunting season will be a new experience this year. He’s very happy.

Cheryl, great news! Has the picture been on this site yet?

  5. Yes, Kare, the photo has been posted here, the red rocks of Sedona in evening light. It’s also one of the most photographed scenes in America, though the classic shot shows the reflection in the creek. I’ve taken that photo in the past myself, decades ago, but on this trip I didn’t find the right spot in the creek and I ended up taking the shot of the scene with a lot of other settings but not the reflections. But I especially liked the photo I took with the glow of evening light.
