Now, then, where was I? Oh, yes, the cake. Let’s see: flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, cayenne pepper. Butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla. Hmm, did I remember the cayenne? Yes, I did, okay, add the dry to the wet, oven is preheating. Grease and flour. Pour. Place in oven. Set the timer. Seems like so yesterday!
Well, here is the pan. It has crumbs in it, but not many.
And here is the cake plate! Also with crumbs! Smells strong of cayenne. So I did make the cake yesterday but somebody absconded with it as well as today’s.
Oh, now I remember. Kenny Rogers had a restaurant down the street at Toco Hills, a place named Roasters which sold delicious roasted BBQ chicken. I bought their corn muffins which had corn kernels in them. Very good to pick up half a dozen for a meal. It has been quite a long time since that place went out.
Had to laugh while looking at the Kenny Rogers’ house article. At the bottom of the page was a “Special Offer” of “$2/Week”.
Of course, it was to subscribe to the WSJ, but at first glance, it looked like that was for the house! 😀
On a different note, whenever I see those wide-open spaces in houses, I always think about how expensive they must be to heat in the winter (especially in colder climes) and air condition in the summer.
But as I have said to a friend about different decorating styles, if a friend or family member had that look in their home, I could see the beauty in it. (Well, unless their taste really stinks. 😀 )
Boy just told me that if I were a teacher, I would probably teach English or reading, or be a special ed teacher. As for being a special ed teacher, he explained, “Because of the way you are.”
Huh?
“Because you’re nice, and special ed teachers are supposed to be nice.”
Good morning! It’s a fine day for a Monday morning.
Only 50 days until election day, but some have already voted in other states. We can’t do early voting until mid October.

Trainer came yesterday, we managed to get Abby into the car (again). Sigh.
(Another) groundbreaking today for a truck EV charging depot at the ports, I’m growing weary.
It’s Monday. Offered without comment.

After getting up this morning I noticed what looked like a shadow on my east-facing window screen (from the inside, window was open) — two cat ears?
The new little gray kitten, Buffy, from next door was nuzzled in between the cushions on my outdoor rocker, sound asleep 🙂

Aww . . . so sweet, Dj. I guess Buffy relaxed after finding no dragons in your yard.
Maybe Abby is a DRAG-on when it comes to vehicles. Sorry for that really bad one!

Buffy’s back in the port rocker. 🙂

Not a cat or dog or goat, we lock the door o keep my dad from wandering. That only leaves one suspect.
One of the seven dwarfs is blue grey. We called it Cloud but somebody renamed it Garfield.

In addition to that, I like a more cozy feel to my home. I like the rooms to be “big enough”, but not with that wide-open look.

That was a sweet thing for him to say. 🙂
Okay, I’ll let him live here a little longer. 😀
