We are still in False Fall #2 as a Facebook friend in this vicinity called it. Very nice. Low humidity. We expect some rain and wind from Francine later in the week

Same here with the heat, but we are supposed to be dropping as of today (to 79) but we will see. They keep telling us it’s over but yesterday was very hot (again). This morning feels cooler already though.

M, photographer with me yesterday was also a former student, but more recently — some surprising changes on campus with the remodel, even he was marveling at it. Nice, bright new main building with a swank indoor food prep (heat your own) and dining area — a far cry from the “cafeterias” of old — and the main campus square (under which most of the fossils were found) bears little resemblance to the old one I remember seeing on occasion when doing stories at the school.
And yes, the fossil find was big and fascinating news.

In my three years there, I never once entered the cafeteria! LOL.
My 50th high school reunion is this month and I will not be there–with FB, I pretty much know what’s happened to all my old friends.
Sadly, the group listed all the people they know had died in the last half-century (!). Sobering to read through the names and remember the faces of so many.
We did have 1000 in our graduating class, so obviously I didn’t know everyone who has died, but several, yes.
I’m attending a women’s retreat instead.

My fiftieth is next year but I had already signed up for the family reunion at the same time so will have to miss it. I enjoyed the last one.

My class’s 50-year reunion just got scheduled a couple weeks ago. California here I come next July.
Oddly, my high school’s teams were the Cleveland Cavaliers, predating by more than 10 years the formation of the same-named pro basketball team.
