It’s 75° at noon here. Very nice. I will enjoy sweeping leaves twice today. I could use a leaf blower, but who wants to disturb the peace with noise pollution?
Just another day — port meeting, found a (very large) dead rat in the backyard, dealing with mosquito bites both yesterday and today, tamale vender yelling from the sidewalk just now hoping for a dinner rush (TAMALES, tamale-tamale-TAMALES), and we’re finally getting a heat wave – the first this summer (it’s 90 degrees in my house today but I’ve opened some windows and am getting at least the beginnings of a cool ocean breeze).
Made an appointment to get another steroid shot in my left thumb which is freezing up and hurting again.

Good morning from cool Atlanta.
Yesterday I began building the blanket of yellow and brown leaves at the base of the Birthday Tree.
Quite a number of leaves have fallen from the poplar and as usual landed in our carport. Twice I swept them out.
Still grieving the constant flow of news about the school shooting yesterday.

Good morning from beautiful Idaho. A pleasant sixty now but shooting up to eighty nine. Temps in the high eighties, low nineties for the next week.

This morning, I put away my spring/summer decorations and put out my fall decorations. That’s always a little fun to do.
