Good morning, all, a beautiful August morning here. Expecting sunshine and eighty seven.
today is fifth daughter’s birthday, turning twenty three. It is also the day she goes to Lewiston to discuss the apartment with the team. I hope they move quickly this time!
Thank you for the many anniversary wishes on Saturday. Our Flyboy and his wife, not realizing it would be our anniversary, had invited us over for an afternoon of lunch and games. We decided we could go out together for our traditional anniversary dinner anytime, but with everyone’s busy schedules don’t get a lot of chance to be with them, so we spent a very nice afternoon with them and daughter KJ.
I have a short work week, then hit the road Thursday to drop KJ off at an old friend’s across the state, then on to St Louis Friday for my friend Jerry’s wedding Saturday.
I’m not sure when our traditional anniversary dinner will happen.
Folks mentioned Chas’s birthday was the same day as our anniversary, which reminds me that he and Elvira got married the year I was born, and Chuck was born the following year. I wonder had that clan is doing. Is anyone keeping in touch with them?
I don’t think anyone is keeping up with them, Kevin. I visited Chas’ gravesite last year and took some photos of the flowers I placed. It was around Christmas. I had found an arrangement of red white and blue flowers on sale after Veteran’s Day and I added some poinsettias to it. I had two of the same arrangement, one for Chas and Elvera and one for my parent’s gravesite. I sent some photos to AJ, but they may have gotten lost in all that was going on. I did send photos to Chuck or Linda and they sent back thoughts of appreciation.
It was a rainy day when my family went and we were out in the rain looking for the gravesite so we did not stay long.
Hubby and I still haven’t gotten around to going out to dinner for our 30th anniversary. Somehow, I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
(That anniversary was over eight years ago – a year and a half before he died. It doesn’t bother me that we didn’t go out as we had intended to, because we showed our love and appreciation for each other at other times, in other ways.)
Fun header!
Good morning from cooler Atlanta. We are suppose to get a teaser of fall in the air this week. Thankful.
