Happy Anniversary, to Kevin and Mrs. Kevin. These aged anniversaries are sweet!
It feels too warm out for my purposes today so I shall stay inside. It rained in the night so I don’t need to water the plants in their new homes.
Art had a flat on his way to work. Had the car towed. Needs a new wheel since he drove it about a mile to a service station on the flat. It is always something. It’s the second time in a week in the shop.
Neighbor has a new little kitten, Buffy, who vanished yesterday; she turned up in my backyard this morning 🙂 and now has been safely delivered back home.
Janice, good thinking! I just emailed the trainer telling her repeated tries in the past week haven’t yielded the success we had in our last training session. Sigh.
It was so nice to hold a kitten, now I want one 🙂 What a sweetie she is.
Good morning, all. A beautiful day here, expecting to get to eighty seven from the current sixty seven.
Jo, did you get a chance to discuss ground rules?
Oldest daughter had to kick out fourth daughter for just such behavior. Fourth was not willing to adjust her attitude to respect the home owner. She continues in the same vein.
We were all so blessed to know Chas. He would have had good advice for Jo about the granddaughter who has obviously rejected wisdom in maintaining relationships and in other areas of her life.
Jo – Have you expressed your concerns and expectations to your granddaughter? If not, she is acting out of ignorance of what it expected of her, rather than purposely going against your wishes. But if you have, then another talk is needed. And if she does not change her behavior after that, then other measures could be taken.
For the sake of your relationship with her in the long-term, I hate the idea of you having to tell her to leave, but I realize that it may come to that if she goes against your expressed wishes.
Something that can help “make the medicine go down” would be to let her know that other families have similar guidelines for each other’s behavior, no matter how old each one is. It is a matter of curtesy, not merely obeying rules that one may feel are constricting.
Hey Jo, sorry it is so tricky. Have you told us how old she is or why she is living with you (her parents kicked her out, or you’re close to where she works, or whatever)? Even in the best circumstances, living with another human being is hard, and this one does sound difficult.
I made a pot of spaghetti and sauce, and will share with my friend who never cooks. Son did not want to mess with taking some home with him, so friend gets his portion. It is difficult to watch my friend daily buy so much food from takeout.
Decades ago, my younger brother was working at a place near my husband and I. He asked to stay with us in our small apartment and we were happy to accommodate him. One day he never returned with absolutely no explanation. I finally called my mom to find out if he had gone home. He had. Unfortunately, he still does not communicate with us.
Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. B.!

And today would have been Chas’s birthday, which I only remember because it’s also the birthday of my little brother.

Abby (and I) would have liked to keep her.

Abby might get in the car to be with a kitten in the car. Borrow the kitty and see!

We’ve just had an offer of a kitten from someone with a.new litter. It is tempting.

I vote yes, Janice — go get her!

We really can’t get a kitten, but I love to think of the fun.

No more aging for Chas and a perfect body, to boot, in a perfect place. What more can one ask for? God blesses us more than we can imagine.

Jo, when you said she said goodbye, I could not tell, did she take her things with her or leave them to return for them in the future?
