  1. The misinformation is coming from with in the House!

    The White House….

“The Harris campaign is editing news headlines on Google search ads to make it look like reputable news sites are giving her favorable reporting, according to Axios.

These are the same people who accuse the right of “misinformation.”

The news sites include the Guardian, Reuters, CBS News and others.

Google says the ads don’t violate their rules however a similar practice has previously been banned on Facebook.”

  2. Old news here and this may have been posted before so apologies on that point; and I’d read this review early on following the book’s release.

I haven’t read the book, but this appears to be a good and fair review of the Basham book, with detailed sections on “What it gets right” and “What it gets wrong.”

If I’m reading a book (or considering buying a book), I like to seek out a few different reviews with different things to say.

(I guess that applies to how I look at and begin to assess political candidates seeking my vote, too 🙂 )

Happy Wednesday everyone, halfway through the week — and then it’s on to the Democratic convention, oh what fun we are having.

  3. “Interesting–Fifth Circuit just ruled that geofence warrants violate 4A. Recall the FBI sought and received a Google geofence warrant on Jan 6, 2021.”

    Answer: It’s not.

“So when Google conducts a geofence search, every cell phone user is included in initial batch. “Sensorvault” refers to Google’s entire location history database.

    How is this possibly constitutional?”

  4. Independents haven’t moved.

The more Pres. Trump gets the chance to speak, the more people he converts. The more Kamala talks, the more people she alienates. That’s why she doesn’t face the press, and it’s why they need to censor us.

    July voter registrations:

    Republicans: +252, 794

    Dems: -19,088

  5. Harris leads or ties Trump in most battleground states, poll shows

“Harris’ success in closing the gap is driven by her consolidation of the Democratic base, and increased support among independent voters,” Walter wrote in her analysis.

Still very close in most of those states — and there’s plenty of time for Harris to make a big mistake or for voters to begin to sour on her (and yes, she needs to start doing sit-down, more in-depth interviews); but she’ll likely get a renewed boost with the convention next week and time is getting short going toward November. (And early voting in some states starts as soon as September?)

  6. Dems and their media allies are not even trying to hide their intent anymore.

“The Biden/Harris Administration is creating new citizens at the fastest clip in American history. Why? Eleven paragraphs into this New York Times article, they literally tell you:“

The surge in naturalization efficiency isn’t just about clearing backlogs; it’s potentially reshaping the electorate, merely months before a pivotal election … Every citizenship application could be a vote that decides Senate seats or even the presidency.”

Democrats are obsessed with amnesty because their project for permanent political power only works by rapidly converting foreign migrants into citizens with the power to vote.

A vote for Harris is a vote to have you and your children replaced.”

“On the eve of the 3rd anniversary of Biden and Kamala’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban are parading around Bagram Air Force Base, which they abandoned for no reason, with the $80B+ of American military gear they left behind for them.

Reminder that Kamala said she was the “last person in the room” making the decisions on their Afghanistan disaster.”

  8. Funny timing on all these biggest ever drug busts. Will they be used as bragging rights at the convention? Without mention of the why and the how many who died from it before when it should have never gotten to this point.

  9. As an aside, looks like a helpful and interesting new book from Crossway:

When Christians Disagree: Lessons from the Fractured Relationship of John Owen and Richard Baxter (Cooper)Author: Tim Cooper

    _________

Two Oppositional Figures in Church History Shed Light on Division in the Church Today

Our current culture seems to be increasingly divided on countless issues, including those affecting the church. But for centuries, theological disagreements, political differences, and issues relating to church leadership have made it challenging for Christians to foster unity and love for one another.

In this book, author Tim Cooper explores this polarization through the lives of two oppositional figures in church history: John Owen and Richard Baxter. Cooper highlights their individual stories while showing how their contrasting life experiences, personalities, and temperaments led to their inability to work together. After exploring these lessons from the past, readers will gain insights into their own relationships, ultimately learning how to love and live in harmony with their fellow believers despite their disagreements.

    • Timely: In today’s deeply divided culture, this book offers past examples to help spur unity among believers today
    • Historical: Biographical examination of two Puritan writers from the 17th century: John Owen and Richard Baxter
    • Accessible: Short format and crisp writing style offer an engaging story with no background knowledge required

“We live in an extremely politicized and polarized age with many big personalities out in front. But this isn’t exactly a new phenomenon. Tim Cooper’s wonderful little book gives us realistic historical reflections that then generate relevant practical advice for us. He encourages us to look back in order that we might learn from (flawed) heroes of the past even as we seek to navigate our own (flawed) engagement in the present. This is a genuinely helpful volume.”
Kelly M. Kapic, Professor of Theological Studies, Covenant College; author, You’re Only Human

Reformation Heritage Books has it for $13 (normally $19) but I’m sure it’s available via Amazon and other sites as well (including Crossway, of course).

  10. Maybe it’s just me, but I think the Church is remarkably united. I’ve never made a historical study of it, but I think if we really look seriously at the violence that Christians in unpopular sects/denominations have endured at the hands of other Christians—being shunned, ostracized or killed, we’d realize how tolerant of each other we actually are.

  11. I bought the book on kindle so I will share what the present divisions are that the author sees; I was most intrigued by how believers can better navigate differences so that was what interested me most about it.
