Good morning from Atlanta. The skies are dull gray and preparing to rain. It’s another day of it before we will get summer heat again with temps that will be around 90° but feel like 100°. Not looking forward to that. I think Kamala will bring that heat into town tomorrow with her visit. 🙂
Morning. Blue skies no smoke. But the heat is on this week with temps around 90! Fighting allergies/summer cold this weekend. I took a Benadryl after church yesterday and slept 3 hours in the afternoon!
The heat is on here, too. We have a heat advisory for the next 3 days.
D1 and family were here for the weekend. We kept 6 of her children for a few hours on Saturday while she and SIL1 went to his cousin’s wedding. We too them on a river boat ride which they enjoyed.
We keep getting predictions of rain, but very little actual rain. We could use some here again.
A river boat ride sounds delightful. I remember bringing our grands on one with my parents. We do not have a boat and it has been years since we have been in any type of watercraft.
I pray your time with your granddaughter will be such a blessing for you both, Jo. I pray for patience and forbearance for you both. That is a long visit, and we humans tend to need that when we are together for so long.
Dj, my allergies are also flared up more than usual. Glad you were able to get a good nap in.
I read that ragweed can get cranked up in July though its peak is in Sept. in this area. I am naming it as my stuffiness instigator. Also, all the rain creates more mold in the air which can cause allergies.
I have been getting in some good Bible study in James and 2nd Corinthians this morning. Now to move along to making some calls to take care of business.
I finished my Sudoku for today. So happy to be in the Hard puzzle section and able to get them completed more often than not..
A gigantic truck is on the street out front. It has a long arm with a claw to grab the stacked piles of pine and oak logs left from Friday. They typically would be left on the street, but with the paving they got left in the yard. Will be good to see the lawn again, crushed though as was necessary.
I have a new small landscaping project as a result of something that was done, I assume, by the workers on Friday. An area was cleared of topsoil that could potentially cause a drainage problem that could affect the foundation of the house. It was not in an area they would have had any reason to bother. It is just another of the many mysteries of living in this location during these times. I will try to make the location prettier than it had been so as to make lemonade from lemons.
The piles of cut trees are gone, and the yard looks really bad. It’s like more topsoil has been removed with lots of gashes. Glad this is my short term home and God has a much better place planned. The weeds can grow back in time.
Kizzie, I did just hear that particular line. I assume he is saying that a lot of Christians do not like to get out and vote. He is saying if they do it this time, that things will get back to more like they want things to be and society itself may change enough so that the Christians will not need to make the effort they should this time. Of course, I could be completely wrong. I didn’t listen to the speech.
I did just listen to the president who had a whole lot of lies, mistakes and/or things he remembers wrong. I wouldn’t bother asking those who support him (or now his candidate) to explain it all.

Good morning, all. Another beautiful day here. Supposed to reach 82 with possible rain showers.
Husband and son got home this morning.

Story today is there’s a ship in port. I know, that’s always true, but this one’s a 500-foot training vessel for would-be mariners under training.
I got to bed way too late last night. And the weekends are much too short. 😦 I think they’re getting shorter, in fact.
But August is literally right around the corner now. Can fall be far behind?

Nope. Could it be because I don’t have an X account? (Although, I have been able to see other X posts before this.)

Oops! Disregard that comment. It was meant for the political thread. Carry on with more entertaining conversation. 🙂
