The White House on Monday detailed the contours of Biden’s court proposal, one that appears to have little chance of being approved by a closely divided Congress with just 99 days to go before election day.
Oh this is rich coming from the ilk that cheated in our last election! Kettle meet pot!!!
The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, said Washington had “serious concerns that the result announced does not reflect the will or the votes of the Venezuelan people”.
He said the international community was watching the vote “very closely” and would react accordingly.
“It’s critical that every vote be counted fairly and transparently, that election officials immediately share information with the opposition and independent observers without delay, and that the electoral authorities publish the detailed tabulation of votes,” said Blinken.
Artistic director Thomas Jolly, who designed the Drag Last Supper, explained, and I am not making this up, he only meant to celebrate “feasting and French gastronomy.” “My wish isn’t to be subversive, nor to mock or to shock,” Jolly explained as though talking to a five-year-old.

Kizzie, I am wondering if you can explain a whole lot of what Harris means when she speaks. Frankly, I do not care for how Trump speaks quite often, and I do not feel the need to explain everything he says. We have had four years of his being in office, so I think everyone should be aware of how he would be in office. Harris, too, has been in office for four years now, although not as president herself. She has a record, though, that speaks of her values. I think we all have a good idea of how each would perform in office.
I am just telling you this in case you think I needed to explain what Trump was saying. Personally, I like to hear other opinions, including those about both of the main candidates. However, I don’t feel beholden to explain or defend either of them.
All I did was ask if anyone knew what Trump meant by those statements. No one could give me an answer other than Trump being Trump, pretty much. But then I am questioned for why I asked. Something similar happened the last time I brought up something questionable. And this time I seem to have gotten the dismissive eyeroll emoji in response, too.
Never mind.
Kathaleena – If people here were promoting Harris, then yes, I would probably ask questions about various things she says.

Just Harris/Biden throwing red meat to the hard left.
It would require a constitutional amendment and 38 states approving it by vote. Not gonna happen.
They seem to not understand how a 3 equal co branches of govt is supposed to work. It was set up this way for exactly this type of presidential, and legislative overreach. Once again, doing the undemocratic thing to try and ” save” democracy.
“So here’s how it works:The media spends years refusing to cover Trump’s speaking events. They cut away mid-speech and describe it as “protecting their viewers from misinformation.” Then, suddenly, there is a Trump event that gets covered by the major news outlets. Coincidentally, he it shot at 8 times and miraculously survives. Worse, he responds to the attack in legendary fashion and pumps his fist as blood streams down his face. Probably the most incredible political photo in modern American history gets taken. Does the media run it 24/7 for months like they would’ve had an attack on Biden or Obama occurred? No. They bury it. Is there a years long “national dialogue about political violence and the dangers of the radical left”? No. Zero.
In 14 days, the story is wiped from the headlines. Google suppresses all searches. Newspapers don’t run the photo, stating openly that it makes him look too heroic. In just two weeks, it is like it never happened.
So what can we conclude?
Well, for one, the entire corporate media sphere works directly for the federal government and by “federal government” I mean the democrats or the establishment or the intel community. Take your pick. But you already knew that.
The conclusion, or oddity, that I can’t get past:
You had a media blackout on Trump ever since J6. You’ve basically gone back to the blackout protocol over the past two weeks.
So…why, how etc.
Did you, the corporate news, decide to cover this one particular Trump event where he just so happened to come one inch from death?
“President Biden’s proposal to radically overhaul the U.S. Supreme Court would tilt the balance of power and erode not only the rule of law, but the American people’s faith in our system of justice.
This proposal is the logical conclusion to the Biden-Harris Administration and Congressional Democrats’ ongoing efforts to delegitimize the Supreme Court. Their calls to expand and pack the Court will soon resume.
It is telling that Democrats want to change the system that has guided our nation since its founding simply because they disagree with some of the Court’s recent decisions. This dangerous gambit of the Biden-Harris Administration is dead on arrival in the House.”
~ To radicalize someone is to shift a person or group’s opinions toward either end of the political spectrum; during times of political upheaval or revolution when people’s opinions stray far from the mainstream. ~
Welcome to our present political era.
Keep the faith regardless of all the noise around us. And it will probably get louder on both ends.
IMO so many can and will become radicalized due to the lack of critical thinking. I have met all too many falling in the follow the leader parade.
Critical thinking is a kind of thinking in which you question, analyse, interpret, evaluate and make a judgement about what you read, hear, say, or write. The term critical comes from the Greek word kritikos meaning “able to judge or discern”.
JD Vance is faltering in the Midwest, a big problem for the GOP
~ … on the heels of a CNN analysis that found Vance was the least-liked non-incumbent vice-presidential nominee in at least 44 years, the network also reported that the GOP lawmaker had a double-digit unfavorable rating with voters across the Midwest.
A CNN poll in July found Vance had a 28% favorable rating and a 44% unfavorable rating — or a minus-16-point favorability rating — among registered voters surveyed in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
For Republicans banking on Vance to boost the party across the Midwest, his standing is far below where he’ll need to be to win over swing voters in key states such as Michigan and Wisconsin. …
… Vance is still early on in his political career, but the Trump campaign needs him to move the needle now. … ~
CNN your trusted “news” source? The more they can push this garbage the better eh? They are just great with polls and having the pulse of the American people.
And this on the “maybe he was shot and maybe not conspiracy of the left.
“Kid lurking around building we are in,” one text reads. “I did see him with a range finder looking towards stage. FYI. If you wanna notify SS snipers to look out. I lost sight of him.”Keystone cops anyone?
NJ – AJ is right ….. Any Supreme Court “reform” ideas is being advocated to encourage voter turnout among Democratic leaning voters. It’s right. The Supreme Court is disliked by more than half the population and look for more of this as a get out the vote mechanism. Its unfortunate but the Supreme Court only has themselves to blame (along with the Republican Senate in 2016). Roberts should’ve reigned in the obvious corruption but didn’t. Their rulings upset the majority of the population but it might have been tolerable if they were consistent but none of their rulings suggested consistency. If these “reform” proposals poll well, look for more.
Kizzie, I did just hear that particular line. I assume he is saying that a lot of Christians do not like to get out and vote. He is saying if they do it this time, that things will get back to more like they want things to be and society itself may change enough so that the Christians will not need to make the effort they should this time. Of course, I could be completely wrong. I didn’t listen to the speech.
I did just listen to the president who had a whole lot of lies, mistakes and/or things he remembers wrong in his speech. I wouldn’t bother asking those who support him (or now his candidate) to explain it all.
And yes, they will change, but they are what they are for now.
Since Harris began her presidential campaign, Democrats have begun to go on offense against Vance, and polls suggest these attacks are beginning to take a hit. Vance averages a net favorability rating of negative 5 percent across all polls, lower than any vice presidential nominee in history, CNN analyst Harry Enten said this week — a lower figure than former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, perhaps the most infamous GOP running mate pick.
I don’t watch Olympics or most sports (bread and circuses) but the first time the blue man went through my facebook feed, I laughed — the worst portrayal of Dionysus ever. Dionysus was the greek god of wine and partying so the pics made some sense. Then I saw a compare and contrast of the Lord’s Supper by daVinci. I thought it was bit forced as the Olympic opening ceremonies was in constant motion. Not to mention, the table setting was pretty standard in Renaissance paintings – techniques weren’t developed unitl for depth and perspective. There are paintings in the Louvre that are quite similar and feature greek gods not the apostles.
In post Christian artistic Europe, its possible that the artists in charge of the ceremonies had no idea of similarities that the sequence would have with da Vinci’s Last Supper. My daughter went to art school and they had very few art history courses. And quite frankly they weren’t very good. I wouldn’t be surprise that those in charge were shocked by the comparison.
~ Only 29% of voters surveyed by Atlasintel Polling have a favorable opinion of Trump’s pick compared to 42% unfavorable. Twenty-nine percent said they were unsure.
Vance ranks slightly higher than Hillary Clinton, who has a 25% favorable rating. Trump and Kamala Harris both have a 48% favorable. Trump has a 49% unfavorable and Harris has a 51% unfavorable, per Atlasintel. …
Vance is supposed to help Trump win the Midwest this fall.
But almost immediately after the Ohio senator was announced as Trump’s vice presidential pick one thing became clear: Vance, a 39-year-old Republican with less than two years in Congress, is not well-known among many in his party, even in the swing states Trump hopes he’ll deliver.
Polls show Vance is the least liked non-incumbent vice presidential pick since 1980 and the first to have a net negative favorable rating. The underwater status is a stark contrast to the average 19-point approval VP picks have had since 2000.
“I’m telling you, voters don’t like this guy,” Sarah Longwell, a political strategist who knows what’s on voters’ minds by way of conducting countless focus groups, posted to X. … ~
Wow – just read my first post – the grammar is embarrassing. I just retired after 27 years of teaching grade seven and it’s beginning to show.
Kizzie, I have had similar thoughts. I’ll watch Biden make some errors and then watch Trump crucify the English language and then wonder why people called Biden senile but not Trump. And the conclusion I reached is that people are saying “Trump is being Trump”. We have lower expectations for him.
However, i do see subtle shifts in tolerance. People leave his rallies early. There’s less enthusiasm for his main talking points. He’s getting “old in the tooth” — he repeats the same talking points since 2015, and our modern attention span is too short for that period of time.
This will become a problem for the Trump campaign – you have to get people out to vote. You need enthusiasm. And he’s ditched the professionals – the guys who make a living getting out the vote. Right now the swing states are a coin toss. If its a coin toss — Democrats will win because they are motivated.
Also interesting to note, Democratic Senators in the swing states are polling at about +5%. Will Trump supporters show up, if the down ballot choices don’t motivate them? I still thing the election is a coin toss but if I was working for the Trump campaign, I’d be more worried now than I was two weeks ago.
Aj — of course the Epstein smear is being recycled. It will work and it does provide contrast. Biden and Harris had nothing to do with Epstein; Trump was friends with him. Epstein transcripts were released and Republicans stopped asking for them. Trump isn’t running against Clinton; he’s running against Harris and Harris put people like Epstein and Trump in jail – she’s the law and order candidate. Expect more of this in the next three months.
I typed “President Do ….. and it auto completed to Donald Trump. I wouldn’t take Musk at his word. Twitter//X is in decline

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden has unveiled a long-awaited proposal for changes at the U.S. Supreme Court, calling on Congress to establish term limits and an enforceable ethics code for the court’s nine justices.

From July 28:
JD Vance’s disastrous polling problem

I guess on the plus side, Vance has plenty of room to improve …

Appears the Trump campaign is upset they aren’t getting enough of a bump from the assassination attempt.

I tried to post this twice but too many links!
One more attempt! Somehow we are supposed to believe her because she’s a conservative Republican!

And you probably won’t be surprised to hear that about 90% of the links here are some I shake my head at in disbelieve or sheer astonishment as well.
So here we are, very politically divided — yet all within the conservative camp.
A very interesting development.

The link I cited was Wikipedia. I recognized her name and researched. Just as I remembered she is a never Trump/hate Trump “expert”.And in my estimation her polls would be highly suspect.

Polls are indeed polls. How many polls predicted a Hillary win in 2016?
In our politics and elections, we would do well to remember that righteousness is not always found in the middle ground between the political extremes. It can be quite radical. And God always has the last laugh, so we might as well just enjoy or endure this season as best we can.
