  1. Contractor woes. He called yesterday and said his regular employer (a local factory) had someone call in who has to miss work for a week, so our contractor is filling in for him and doing hos regular shift. Now he can’t come until next Wednesday.

Note to self: try to find a contractor (self employed or otherwise) who does not have another job.

  2. Good morning! I had an early morning visit with the tree guy for an estimate in getting dead trees out and cleaning up with tree trimming. Nice guy who was recommended through church. It took more time than expected going over all the little things his crew will do. Long time the yard had been left unattended. He was here on time.

  3. We are in the sixties, too, but it will only go up to the upper seventies. I will close the windows to try to preserve some cool. I love the cool nights to do that.

I received a call from the phone company about our landline being fixed. It was fixed on the day that they said they would come, although we were not there. I did get a message that they wanted someone there, but it was a few hours after they said they would be there, and we were far from home. She was happy it was fixed and said she would be crediting days we had no working line. Not sure how much that will be, since I hadn’t kept track myself. It was a pleasant surprise.

Our contractor was hoping to be finished with the countertops on Friday or Monday. However, one countertop didn’t come in, so the place had to put in an order to get it ASAP. It didn’t much faze me, since there seems to always be something. However, the day he is here is not one that works well for us. We will make do. Praying now that the countertop missing will actually come ASAP.

Houses, like cars, do need to be maintained. Good contractors are a blessing. This guy does seem to be good, and I am thankful for him.

  4. It’s only up to 75° here with cloud cover. It might go up another ten degrees.

I found out my neighbor on one side has a cute little sign, between our properties which are very close, that says Smile You Are On Camera. Tree guy and I made the movies, lol

  5. That’s my Buddist neighbor. The two married ladies are on the other side. I saw this newish neighbor and her cute little curious dog so said Hi. I hardly ever hear a peep from her and her college student age children except for an occasional party on their deck.

  6. Warmish here and thick with smoke!
Have been to the dentist and back already. It only took a half hour and didn’t hurt a bit. Will go in every three months to check on the bone loss and clean out the pockets forming. Better than starting all over with another implant ! I love that my dentist is on the more conservative side when it comes to teeth! 🦷

  7. Our temps are staying, still, in the mid-70s but …. as they say, It’s the Humidity. Ugh. We are not used to this and I think we’re heading into the 3rd week of it. But it would be so much worse if the temperatures also were higher.

Last summer was so mild and wonderful, we didn’t actually have any real uncomfortable weather at all.

I had a mosquito in the house last night.

  8. We are just in from cornhole where it is 80 degrees and 32% humidity.

Husband and eighteen son are off to pick up oldest daughter’s six year old son for the long awaited adventure to Gettysburg. Son found it in one of his magazines he reads and wanted to foot the bill so off they go.

  9. Got the baby shower gift (a little “milkshake pink” hooded cardigan – GAP Kids – that makes you go “Eeeee”), and a ‘little bean’ onesie mailed off to friend’s daughter, just in time for Saturday’s shower; could not find the dog ‘seatbelt’ trainer recommends — but did find them online so ordered one there.

    Still muggy.

  10. payday so I went shopping at Costco and Walmart. Note to self, do not go on a four hour shopping trip when it is 106 degrees out. That is just too much heat to handle
