  1. I think CS Lewis is spot on in this quote taken from the article Kathaleena linked.

“C.S. Lewis once observed, “Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.” There’s a corollary here worth considering. If we aim at the salvation of human souls, we will get culture thrown in. But if we aim at culture as the primary focus of our witness, we can miss both culture and souls. The objective should be both but in the correct sequence.”

“NEW: The media is now claiming VP Kamala Harris was never the ‘Border Czar’ as the Trump campaign starts ramping up attacks.

You don’t hate the media enough.

March 24, 2021: “Biden puts Harris in charge of border crisis” – Axios.

July 24, 2024: “The Trump campaign and Republicans have tagged Harris repeatedly with the “border czar” title — which she never actually had.” – Axios.

The articles were written by the same ‘journalist,’ Stef Knight.”

  3. “Kamala Harris will never run on her record. She will only run against the record she will project onto Donald Trump, so lies.

Just two days ago, the New York Times rated Harris as the least electable of all the possible Democrat nominees.

In 2019, GovTrack scorecard ranked her as the most radical senator in the Senate. She even ranked below Bernie Sanders.

Below are 17 examples of her alt left agenda.

She will never address her record head on in a general election.

    Ask yourself why?”

  4. “So now we know the fundraising was a scam and all the money is coming from a foreign born billionaire democrat donor who’s not even allowed to donate money to our elections.

Pretty soon, we’re gonna find out that the people at that rally were mostly paid for by the DNC.

The only thing Democrats have is a media that allows them to create fake narratives.”

  5. I’ve only seen 2 signs this year. Both for RFK Jr. I put a sign up in 2016– Trump/Pence. I still have one in the basement. I’m thinking of putting it up. Just replace the “Pe” in Pence with “Va” and I’m good to go. 🙂 But most likely I’ll just leave it in the basement.

  7. Although a friend said he’d seen a couple of those Trump flags on cars following the convention.

He added that he’d like to find a car campaign flag saying: “What a mess.”

  8. On July 24, 2024, NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, made headlines with a crucial interception. Two Russian TU-95 bombers and two Chinese PRC H-6 bombers were detected and intercepted while operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). This area is critical for national security as it marks the boundary between international airspace and sovereign U.S. and Canadian territories.

What makes this event even more alarming is the context: Joe Biden, the current president, is seen by many as a lame duck and is grappling with cognitive challenges. This situation has opened the door for our adversaries to test the boundaries of U.S. defenses.

  9. We’ve got lots of lawn signs up in my neighborhood for local races in the upcoming primary, but I don’t think I’ve seen presidential candidate signs so far.

I have a dilemma for our primary. Michigan’s primary system allows me to vote in any party’s primary, regardless of my registration, but only in one party’s. I can vote the R ballot or the D ballot, but I can’t pick an R for one office and a D for another.

I’d like to vote the R ballot (as usual) because we have multiple Rs running for the senate seat Debbie Stabenow (D) is retiring from, and I do prefer one candidate over the others.

I’d also like to vote on the D ballot because for some of our local races, including county sheriff and township supervisor, there are oo Rs running, but multiple Ds. Whoever wins the D primary almost automatically wins the general election. And I have a strong preference on one of those.

What to do, what to do…

  10. Kevin, CA has gone to what’s called a “jungle” primary — so the top two vote-getters in the primary, even if they’re from the same party (and they almost always are, both Dems), go against each other in the general election as the only two choices in a particular race.

So often my choice is Democrat 1 or Democrat 2. Feels not right to me, like many get disenfranchised. I will typically vote for Republicans (though I am registered nonpartisan) so sometimes I just have to not vote when the choice is 2 Dems who are often also both quite liberal.

I hope the state gets rid of this primary system after a while, but no signs that will happen yet. We are heavily tilted in LA County toward Democrat registration so those wind up the main candidates dominating our general election ballots.
