  3. Our schools generally start after Labor Day. When you live in the north, you have to take advantage of every day of summer. I hope that never changes. Schools used to close before Memorial Day (it used to be state law) unfortunately that isn’t often true anymore.

  5. We used to have Memorial weekend to Labor Day weekend bookending summer so the farm hands could finish harvest, even extending into September if needed, but then football. Seems that starts in early August so then school started creeping back into summer, so they could take more breaks during school year. Now a lot of the area schools are four day weeks with at least monthly another day or two off.

    Prayer for the children in our schools. May they have good solid teachers willing to buck the system to guide them to Truth.

  6. I was just out for a bit. My knee is acting up again, I suspect from limited use the last week. I though some exercise would do it good.

    Cheryl continues to produce snot at epic levels. 😍 And I still love her….

    Kidding aside, she felt well enough to work from home, probably will the rest of the week too.

    The kids may return to work tonight, since no one in managment seems to care about infecting others where they work, and they will get penalized under the new points system if they miss a day again. We will see…

  8. Please pray for a dear, sweet Christian friend who is being verbally and emotionally abused by her husband, who is also a believer, but has not been attending church for several months or longer. I have advised her to speak to our pastor.

    Praying Kizzie. That is tough. May God bring them together in love again if possible, but keep safe distance if necessary until attitudes and actions are reformed. Wisdom for godly counseling. Full support from the church and friends and family.

    Update on SIL’s mom: M returned home yesterday evening. Today she went to the clinic to get her UTI treated.

    She said nothing about her Wednesday to Monday “disappearance.” 3rd and SIL have together decided to give her a second chance to prove herself responsible. If she ever takes off again without notice and refuses to communicate with family, daughter and SIL are prepared to disallow her from ever babysitting granddaughter again.

    Praise that I was able to rearrange my Friday school-year piano teaching schedule so that I can babysit for them on Fridays year-round, not just during the summer.

    Praise also that granddaughter is doing better after her ER visit Sunday night. Thank you for praying, all of you who saw that late-night request of mine on the weekend thread.
