  1. Good morning! It’s starting at 72° and partly cloudy. Looks like I should mow the shaggy sod but not the rest of the yard. Learning new landscape tricks. Whatever works! We expect rain every single day this week, but thankfully, not constant.

  2. Good morning. Last really hot day for a while according to the forecast. Should be ninety eight. Currently sixty six but with all the windows open, still seventy three indoors.

  3. Hindsight is 20/20. We moved all the movable thing out of the kitchen dining area since we’re getting the floor redone today. That was a lot of work. The fridge and small freezer were the hardest. Now the living room looks like a disaster with all the boxes and such. We’re letting the contractor move the large pantry cabinet, which is 7′ tall, as well as taking apart and moving an island cabinet.

Hopefully by midweek he’ll have the job done so we can put it all back together, since D1 and family are coming for the weekend.

  4. I feel your pain, Peter. And your house-discombobulation.

So. It’s Monday again, isn’t it?

This shouldn’t be a crazy week ahead, no port meetings on the schedule or anything else that I’m aware of, so far.

Abby’s dog trainer returns tonight at 6 p.m. to try our first “fun run” on wheels that will include taking Abby through the In-and-Out drive through.

We’re on a mission to change her mind about going for a ride.

How we’ll manage to get her into the back of either trainer’s SUV or mine remains to be seen.

  5. We are still waiting for the countertops, which are backordered, the electrician, who has never returned my call (but the handyman says he will, and then for the stove fan to be actually workable. I am glad I decided not to replace the cabinets. They do need a good cleaning.

We so need new carpeting, but one thing at a time.

We have rain predicted, but nothing so far. I spent an hour and a half getting a tooth prepped for a crown. When I was a young girl, this is not what I thought it would be like to be crowned! Life is often different than our expectations. 🙂

I am thankful for a good dentist and her assistant.

  6. Just called someone from church to ask forgiveness. He just laughed… It was from when we were all up at Tahoe for the picnic and beach time. He was in the water on a floatie thing and I talked two others into overturning him into the water. A successful mission.

He came up to me later and wanted to know if I was the instigator and I said yes. But I couldn’t tell from his face if he was mad, so I called him. I had to think and think am I just bad was I mean, etc. Questioning my motivation as I didn’t know him well.

What a great conversation we had. Turns out that he was a missionary kid in Japan his whole life. I mentioned a biography I had read about a fellow who was in prison in japan during WWII and then when back to tell the people about Christ. a very moving story. Well Tim was in school with the man’s daughter and knew the family well. amazing. I just made a new friend. He thought it was so funny that the missionary was instigating the attack.

  7. Jo that is a sweet providential making of a new friend! Such a fun way in which to do it as well!!😊

Kathaleena you shall be crowned… one way or the other!

I was in the dentist chair this morning as well. Cleaning and the discovery of huge bone loss on either side of my implant. Heading back Wednesday morning to figure out what must be done. Thankfully this issue is not causing pain but I have a feeling it will! I too am thankful for a wonderful dentist. Last time to see my hygienist as she is having a baby next month and will be a stay at home Mom. How I will miss her but so happy for her and her hubby…and baby boy.

  8. hmmm…. I was thinking this weekend that I should call the dentist office for an appointment as I was experiencing pain. Probably better to do that sooner rather than later.

    Thanks for the encouragement

  9. I had my teeth cleaning a month or so ago, so far I’ve not lost any teeth but I realize that getting older … well, stuff happens, so I’m being extra diligent at nightly flossing again.

Former colleague had a tooth pulled in the past week and will need a bone graft done before the implant; and another colleague has had some dental issues crop up now as well.

  10. Still waiting for the contractor to show up or call.

    ~Sigh~

I don’t know what it’s like elsewhere, but contractors here rarely keep their word unless they are part of a large company. We’d rather go with smaller businesses when possible, but I wonder how they stay in business if they don’t let you know why they aren’t coming when they say they will.
