  1. 😂

President Joe Biden late Friday dissected former President Donald Trump’s speechaccepting the Republican nomination the night before with a lengthy 13-post thread onX, coupled with a fundraising plea, in which he calls out his rival for different things he said.

“I’m stuck at home with COVID, so I had the distinct misfortune of watching Donald Trump’s speech to the RNC,” Biden started. “What the hell was he talking about?”

  2. For those who really think we should have a serious discussion on foreign policy, this speech given by JD Vance to the Senate in April is a real start. It’s chocked full of data.

  3. I guess my post had too many links! But this struck me funny as this is exactly how all of the world feels when Biden tries to speak!!

  5. Fairly certain DJ was not questioning relationships with God. She was warning, as a Christian ought, her fellow believers to keep eyes on target lest we get caught up in wrong things. I am the one who expressed concern on the second night of the RNC that it appeared some folk there might be putting Trump on a pedestal. A simple warning to us all to not trust in chariots. We do not want to cause a possible brother to falter by putting too heavy a weight on him.

Trump is not the only solution to the world’s woes. If God desires to redirect America from this crashing course, He has millions of people to use and does not need any of them. If He chooses to use Donald Trump for a piece of the fix, it is His call.

Our part is to be at peace with one another, not judging another’s call. If God wants me doing this and you doing that, it does not mean one or the other is wrong. God has His purposes.

What we can do is pray for peace and unity. Pray for believers to stay strong. Pray for unbelievers to have their eyes open. Pray for the love of God to pour forth from His people onto their neighbors. We can discuss our concerns without attacking other’s concerns.

  6. Attacking is a rather strong word. Not attacking in the slightest. I get iron sharpening iron. If my post was perceived as an attack my apologies.

My observation was that no matter how many times it is explained no I’m not putting my trust in a candidate it seems admonishment continues.

What is happening in this world and our nation could very well be God’s judgement upon a rebellious people. Trump nor anyone else can possibly be saviour…there is but one…. Christ our Lord. I’ll see myself out now

  7. Attacking is a strong word. I do not believe Christians ought to attack one another, nor should nonbelievers. I can’t say if people are attacking each other here, but can say we could attack issues. We can disagree. And you are correct, we do not know God’s plan. All we know is we each have a path laid before us and we each need to follow the path God has given us without worrying over how God is guiding others.

  8. So with Biden and Hillary already publicly endorsing Harris, and Obama saying we’ll decide at the convention, we’re looking at a contested convention. It’s 1968 Chicago all over again. You’re about to see what a dem civil war looks like.

We need to pray for our country and leaders, because certain forces have bad intentions about this already. The progs and elites are at odds in much, and thats about to be on full display. Mass protests are planned, and I’m guessing even more now.

  9. Here’s what we don’t know, however — judgement on the nation can come in many ways, including through a president we may like. We cannot know God’s intent or ultimate purpose in the headlines we read. There is a purpose, but we can’t see it.

Was Trump saved by the bullet to ascend to the White House for wonderful reasons? Or something else? I don’t and can’t know.

We can always praise God for his sovereignty — but we won’t know the reasons or outcomes of what it all leads to, so we need to hold and accept that position of humility.

  10. And another interesting point was raised recently by a believer online — how important is our calling (or is there even a calling for this?) to salvage the culture around us? Do we even have that calling as we don’t see that in a clear way via Scripture (which focuses much more on how God’s people can survive in hostile circumstances and cultures).

Jonah was called (kicking and screaming 🙂 ) to make such a difference and, at least for a season as far as we know, he was used to (reluctantly) do that. But … ?

    Thinking out loud.

We are to be salt and light in this world so I’d say to that extent believers should make some difference in their surroundings. But that may be more immediate, not necessarily a national difference. That is not our focus, from what I can tell (yet it seems to be perceived as that now in many corners).

  11. We really do not have much influence outside our little circles. More people are reached by acts of love than by yelling loudly our opinions. How many here have changed their views based on anybody’s words said on here? But I think we have all grown in our knowledge of the Lord.
