Good morning from hot and humid Atlanta. I have been outside a lot this a.m. taking care of Monday garbage bins to the street, watering elephant ears and other thirsty plants, cutting down spent tiger lily plants, and sweeping the carport. A few of my favorite things . . . it all counts for exercize with a purpose.
A bit cooler and rainy today. Nevertheless, we are to reach into the upper seventies, which is too warm for me. At least we are getting some cooler air into the house this morning.
Cool, overcast morning on la west coast. Gardeners are due to come today (and I need to talk to them about an extra little weed-related job out front, something they used to do routinely but are not doing now).
Meanwhile, Charlie Brown 2 out front is bursting with new, bright green branch tips once again, despite my not having watered out there this summer! My front-yard hose is broken/sprung a big face-washing leak/ and I’ve now bought a new one but I need to get it attached and set up out there.
I’m seeing “end of summer” beach events appearing on our church bulletin, fall is coming.
Summer just officially.arrived less than a month ago and now fall is about to kickoff. Summer is not at all what I have memories of from the 50s and 60s. However, when I go outside today I am reminded that, yeah, this is a summer day in Atlanta. Hot and sweaty. I would not mow on a day like today. Glad I got that done last week.
We have been out playing tennis. Note to self: ninety four year olds should not be playing tennis in crocs. He fell. Scratched his hand but is okay, I think. A bit embarrassed. But he still had the strokes. He plays ambidextrous.
We got power back for the second time this evening. Thankful to God for electricity, flashlights, and candles (and matches or lighters). That storm was mighty today.

good morning, from hot and humid land. I was outside for Bible reading. It is sixty nine out with unbelievable forty one percent humidity.
