  1. Amen

My 90-year-old friend from church is home after breaking a femur in a fall at church. He’s one of the most enthusiastic, upbeat and positive people I know so he’d sent me a long email last night just going on about how wonderful it is to be home, how amazing! his physical therapist is who comes to the house (for now) and has already started him on how to navigate their front steps safely, how wonderful life itself is!

So thankful to God for him and his ability to get through these trials (he broke his other femur several years ago and came back from that one, too). He keeps bouncing back. And how he loves exceeding the bar they set at physical therapy. 🙂 I’m quite sure he makes their day when he comes in.

  2. We will see if this works. Trying to post a fire update.

WEDNESDAY MORNING KIDDER CREEK FIRE UPDATE

    Acres Burned: 8,285

    Containment: 0%

    Personnel: 2,040

The Shelly Fire continues to make slow progress toward camp. It appears to be approximately half a mile from our property line, and a mile from the closest camp structures.

Up to this point, the fire has been burning extremely steep and impossible-to-access terrain, meaning it can only be fought from the air. Once it reaches camp, fire fighters will be able to fight it from the ground. Other than one small home, camp contains the first structures the fire will encounter. Crews have cleared a 100-foot-wide bulldozer line across camp to stop the fire.

    Prayer requests for today:

    • Please pray for the wind, especially this afternoon and evening. Pray that the wind will point the fire away from camp.

    • Please pray for the fire fighters, many of whom go days without sleep and are working with all their might to save camp. Pray that the Lord would give them supernatural strength and endurance.

    • Please pray for Andy and his family (their house is adjacent to the camp property) and the rest of our displaced staff.

Thank you for your love for and support of Kidder Creek. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.

  3. Twenty two daughter has a new plan. She is refusing the Lewiston placement and it has to be voluntary.

Her current plan: boyfriend is divorcing his wife, this week or next week or someday soon. Then they are going to go live homeless in Oregon or Boise or somewhere. Oh, and he is in talks with her lawyer to become her guardian.

The prayer: wisdom and may wisdom prevail.
