  1. @10:17, amen, and an excellent article, thanks for posting that Kathaleena.

A distant cousin? Maybe, who knows; but I have respected his opinions for several years now, I first spotted him on then-Twitter and have followed him there. I was glad to see him in World more recently.

  2. The radio station that hosted President Joe Biden’s first post-debate interview cut ties on Sunday with the host who conducted the interview after she admitted to asking Biden questions that were given to her by his team.

The questions reportedly were drafted by officials at the White House and were then sent to the radio station by Biden’s presidential campaign.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders, host of “The Source” on WURD in Philadelphia, told CNN that “the questions were sent to me for approval. I approved them.”

  3. Of course. They need the votes.

“After spending the last three years flooding the country with millions of illegals, the Biden admin just came out against the SAVE Act, which would require documentary proof of United States citizenship in order to vote in American elections.”

  4. Biden’s brain has been fried for quite some time. Those defiant can no longer deny the fact. They have to know they are exposing their foolishness whilst still saying it’s all ok!

Amazing discoveries Aj. So it would be suspect the ol’ doc is on the dole…at this point I am wondering who isn’t on the dole!! Even millions of illegal invaders are on the dole of the American taxpayers! And now it appears they will be “allowed” to vote for their “benefactor”…traitor Biden!

It is good to see World taking a more neutral position of voting your conscience instead of shouting “Trump is unfit to be President”!

“There is no plausible reason why any honest, uncompromised member of Congress would vote against the #SAVEact. If you oppose the requirement that only US citizens can vote in federal elections then you are automatically suspect.”

    Asking for a friend…..

    “Dear Senate Republicans:

Why haven’t ALL OF YOU co-sponsored @BasedMikeLee’s bill to require proof of citizenship for federal elections?

    This is a red line.”

  6. The World column was excellent and echos so much of my own thinking (and arguments occasionally made here but not received well).

Either way, this will still be a difficult election for many.

And while I agree Biden and his family have become absolutely tone-deaf on the matter of stepping aside, it’s hard to watch him trying to hang on. He will step down, his party will make sure of that as it will be their only chance to win this already tight election — the question will be whether a shred of dignity or grace will remain for Biden after such a stubborn and willful episode.

Human pride can be a person’s own worst enemy. 😦

“BREAKING: The Philadelphia radio host that interviewed Joe Biden has been fired by the station for receiving and using questions from Biden’s aides

Joe Biden literally got a black woman fired from a job she’s been doing for YEARS“

The interview featured pre-determined questions provided by the White House, which violates our practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners”

  8. That was a good article, Kathaleena. Thanks for posting it. Although I have seen national representatives elected by one or two votes (twice), usually our actual individual vote is not that significant to the outcome. The real significance, in my opinion, is our thinking about the issues ( or refusal to think about some issues), how we hear God (or don’t hear him) and our conversations during the stress that more or less accompany all elections. It’s a unique opportunity for growth in our emotions, understanding, spirit and also our skills. Iron sharpens iron in many ways.

  9. 😒😒😒Sad.So.Sad. Any thought of Biden.

The news this morning talked of the mental health issues cropping up based on the political news. Those groups who generally don’t believe in God are really hard hit right now. It’s like a double whammy.

  10. Valid point, Ty (@4:15).

All that aside, character issues have surrounded and followed Donald Trump for a very long time now (and continue to do so). So that is more of the conscience issue for some of us who see a person’s good character as perhaps the foundational trait for a nation’s leader.

  11. In my observation, character issues are highly subjective in politics. In the 80s, evangelicals didn’t seem to think twice about voting for a divorced man estranged from his son, whose wife practiced the occult. And he showed definite signs of senility. His presidency solidified the age of corporatusm we now live in. But he charmed us so well that we still speak of him reverently. We all make our compromises according to what we believe to be important at the time, and sometimes that makes us see what we want to see. All of us.

  12. Some feel they can afford idealism and others do not. We still love each other and suffer the same consequences of the outcome of the election. It won’t be pretty either way. And it still might not be the election we anticipate at this moment in time.

  13. I’d say good character isn’t asking for idealism — or at least it shouldn’t be — in a national leader.

Without it, a president is on shaky ground indeed — as is a nation under him or her.

So to me it’s a foundational requirement.

No one’s perfect, all have flaws. But I think we all know good character (and bad character) when we see it.

  14. Stable or unstable character is probably a better definition for this discussion (though I still stand behind good character as a fair definition for what we should be looking for).

Many politicians are not admirable “characters.” But surely there are still some who would get above the bar?

On the other topic (Biden), it sounds like the Democratic convention will be a lively one. Biden appears to be really digging in, which is likely good news for Trump.

  15. Just a technical point about the definition of “convicted”. This is from Wikipedia but other sources agreed.

In law, a conviction is the determination by a court of law that a defendant is guilty of a crime.

After a defendant is convicted, the court determines the appropriate sentence as a punishment.

  16. Kevin, you may be right. But I don’t think one is a “convicted felon” if the conviction is overturned. In the Trump case, some believe it will be overturned on appeal, which makes the idea of a case for election interference or malicious prosecution interesting.

  17. Wonder if Schiff would agree to an evaluation. He is definitely unstable not to mention a liar. And that comment “do everything in his power”…..hmmmmm

Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) launched into a critique of both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, suggesting that cognitive tests might reveal “serious illness” in Trump. The comments came during a Monday appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where Schiff openly discussed the current state of political affairs and leadership concerns in Washington.

“Look, I’d be happy if both the president and Donald Trump took cognitive tests,” Schiff said, adding a provocative follow-up, “They both should be willing to take a test. I think frankly a test would show Donald Trump has a serious illness of one kind or another.”“Ultimately, the decision is going to come down to what Joe Biden thinks is best. And if his decision is to run, then run hard and beat that SOB. And if his decision is to pass the torch, then the president should do everything in his power to make that other candidate successful,” Schiff said.

  18. Ah, I stand corrected — I was premature in agreeing with Ty, I hadn’t read his comment carefully enough, but yes, Trump was, indeed, convicted.

  19. Anyone reading the bible would be astounded by the people God used in a variety of ways, including leading His people. Even those commended by God certainly had some real sin issues.

I would love to have an honorable stateman to vote for myself. I am not sure one would make it that far with how the citizens of the country think these days. Or how so many of our young people are taught history and/or ethics.

I am glad I can rest in the Lord no matter what.

  20. I do. He has been convicted of a felony, therefore he is a convicted felon by the simple definition of the words.

It’s a separate question whether he deserved the conviction or whether he is morally guilty.

If the conviction is ever overturned he will no longer be a convicted felon. But at the moment he is.
