  1. Missed it? More like ignored it for partisan reasons. It’s why the hate Twitter too, because the commoners were exposing what they refused to. They lost control of the narrative.

“Pulitzer Prize-winning newsrooms and pundits with six-figure salaries all “missed” the deterioration of Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities, while accounts with handles such as PatriotMom1776 and RealEagle_Freedom have been pointing it out for about five years.”

  2. So the corrupt and compromised son is now joining the corrupt and compromised father in running the country.

“Hunter Biden has joined meetings with President Biden and his top aides this week at the White House, four people familiar with the matter tell my colleagues, who are told the reaction from some senior White House staff has been,  “What the hell is happening?””

  3. This must chill even those asleep at the wheel for the past four years!!!

    Jeff Childers:

The three points were the leaked facts that, since last weekend, (1) Hunter “has joined meetings with President Joe Biden and his top aides,” (2) Hunter has been directing “senior White House staff members,” and worst, (3) Hunter “has been closely advising his father.” Meaning, he has been closely advising the President of the United States.

Hunter! The crackhead. The laptop loser. The scam artist. The sister-in-law stealer. The smartest man Joe ever met. Even Democrats admit Hunter is a lost cause. But they have always gamely insisted he’s far from the levers of power, so who cares? I don’t need to ask the follow-up question, do I? No, as it happens, I don’t, because NBC said it first.

“A lot of the Biden news today on social media involves various famous women who have obvious mental health issues complaining about how afraid they are because their own team gaslighted them into thinking Trump is Hitler.

This is not about politics. It’s about Democrats poisoning the minds of other Democrats until they created a mass mental health crisis.”

“It’s a matter of basic law that a person who is not competent cannot sign contracts or execute official documents. This is a major issue in elder law due to dementia and senility.

The debate showed Biden is not of sound mind, so how can he be issuing executive orders, or signing bills, or issuing pardons?

Wouldn’t those actions be invalid if the only official with the authority to sign them is not actually competent to do so as a matter of fact and law?”

  7. Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Does God Promise to Bless America? How to Apply 2 Chronicles 7:14

~ In 1976, as America celebrated its 200th birthday, the number one song in many of the nation’s churches was Neil Enloe’s “Statue of Liberty.” The Dove Award ‘Song of the Year’ likened the cross to the statue as a powerful symbol of freedom. In the same year, Jimmy and Carol Owens popularized a song that helped a generation of Christians memorize 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV): “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

During America’s bicentennial year, nostalgic yearning for better days created a unique historical context. In “God and Country” worship services, “If My People” was performed and accompanied by patriotic symbols like the American flag. Sight and sound fixed in many minds that 2 Chronicles 7:14 was about America. “My people” were Americans, and “their land” was the United States. And in 1976, the United States needed healing.

In the three years prior, Americans had endured the energy crisis, Roe v. Wade, the Watergate hearings, Richard Nixon’s resignation, the fall of Saigon, the worst tornado outbreak on record, unprecedented divorce rates, and a recession that ended the post–World War II economic expansion. America had lost her way, and the reason was obvious to the nation’s evangelicals: America left God, so God was leaving America. But if they returned, God would heal the nation and restore American greatness. …

In 1977, Peter Marshall coauthored ‘The Light and the Glory.’ Marshall’s Ivy League credentials bolstered his claims that the American people were meant to be “a light to lighten the Gentiles” (Luke 2:32, KJV) and that America was “God’s new Promised Land.” Marshall’s work provided the cement that joined 2 Chronicles 7:14 to the U.S.

In 1980, with a view to bringing America “back to God,” evangelicals helped elect Ronald Reagan. America now had a wise Solomon, and hope was growing that God would heal the land’s spiritual, economic, and military sickness through political means. On January 20, 1981, Reagan was sworn in on the Capitol steps, with his left hand on his mother’s Bible open to 2 Chronicles 7:14. The cement had cured.

There are two common mistakes regarding 2 Chronicles 7:14. The first is to abuse it, using it to justify a flag-wrapped form of prosperity theology. The second is to excuse it, as if it weren’t “written for our instruction” (Rom. 15:4). Because it’s God’s Word, it’s wise to ask, How should we apply 2 Chronicles 7:14? Here are four guidelines. …

  9. (But it ends with this):

And this is where we can agree with those patriotic, neighbor-loving impulses of 1976. If we love America, we’ll intercede for her. We’ll plead for justice, peace, and prosperity in our communities. We’ll pray with a willingness to be God’s answer to our prayers through faithful witness, mercy ministries, peaceful protest, and principled political engagement.

We’ll petition God with the confidence that a hundred thousand years from now, the U.S. will have gone the way of all nations, but his church will be flourishing on the earth. We’ll pray knowing that God is the Potter, the nations are clay, and he has declared his sovereign prerogative to bless any nation that “turns from its evil” and to withhold good from any nation that doesn’t (Jer. 18:7-10).

How will America hear God’s voice? Through the humble, praying, God-seeking, sin-hating, spiritually healed churches of America. For judgment begins “at the household of God” (1Pet. 4:17).

  10. Some Christian friends of mine used to say we should stop asking God to bless the US so much — and focus our attention, instead, as believers, on how we (in the church) can bless God through faithful prayer and obedience.

  11. We read TheLight and the Glory in the early homeschool years. Our take was that God had been active n the making and buikding of this great country and we ought not squander the opportunity. To enjoy it, to share it with others, to care for it, to thank God daily, to use the opportunity of freedom to proclaim Christ, but to realize, this too, is but a vapor. Eldest son even sent a copy to President Clinton.

  12. If that is the case, how are we doing lately?

Got into a discussion today with a non believing friend about whether there is a standard of “good” when it comes to one’s character and the character of our leaders.

Not everyone would agree with your (definition) he said.

But is there a definition at all that could be generally agreed to? (I’d say yes, he evidentially was saying no.)

Wish I’d thought to use the biblical analogy of the plumb line (since he’s an engineer) but maybe next time.

We (all of us) know what is right, what is good behavior and what is not. Because at some level, Paul tells us in Romans, we know there is a God. All of us, whether we acknowledge that or not.

Good answer on God’s providence over nations from John Piper:

    https://www.desiringgod.org/interviews/does-christ-rule-the-nations-now

1 excerpt which has come up here recently:

.. God governs the actions of sinful rulers, like Herod and Pilate, to accomplish his purposes, without himself ever sinning. So, the first way to think about God’s rule over the nations is that it is total, constant, and infinitely wise and just — now and always. “He does according to his will among . . . the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, ‘What have you done?’” (Daniel 4:35).

    • Daniel 4:17: “The Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.”
    • And when God puts the kings in place, he governs what they do. Proverbs 21:1: “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.”

  13. Amen. And I should have clarified in my thoughts, that God was also instrumental in the formation of all nations, whether we agree with them or not. God will be Glorified in it all.
